Is there a way to reset the prefs? I tried a bigger resolution, and now it starts and won't show any picture, just black screen. I can see the hd is flashing, but no action...
Never got an email about a 2nd version but still struggling to get the 1st one working correctly. I get loads of errors about not being able to load sound samples. Is that just me?
I tested the new version today too. Thanks Huno. The time demo on X1000 with RX550 improved from 13.4 to 14.5 fps. In game the frame rate swings from 60 to 5 fps. CPU use is pegged at 100%. It is an impressive port, although the frame rate inconsistencies mean there is still some way to go to consider the game playable.
@ddni yes, on X1000 it will be super-playable. In .cfg can be many details reduced ( here is detailed guide: https://tweakguides.pcgamingwiki.com/Doom3_1.html ) Our .cfg should be the same, but I recommend not to change our default .cfg, but write modifications on autoexec.cfg instead.
I will try make playable Huno's port also on sam440ep-flex, it has 4.3 fps with older beta (and with ARB renderer) on full details and resolution. But it takes time, my Sam is without PCEe bridge and HD gfx just now, due to testing of my AmigaOne XE.
Btw, upto now I am not succseed to run Domm3 on XE. It looks like newer versions of RadeonHD and Warp3DNova are not enough betatested with XE ( only few people have XE with PCIe card, if any ). But I will post exact details when I finish with PCI interrupts there .
AmigaOS3: Amiga 1200 AmigaOS4: Micro A1-C, AmigaOne XE, Pegasos II, Sam440ep, Sam440ep-flex, AmigaOne X1000 MorphOS: Efika 5200b, Pegasos I, Pegasos II, Powerbook, Mac Mini, iMac, Powermac Quad
for those that don't know how to get into the timed demo:
Press Ctrl Alt ~ to bring up the console screen (I have to do it a few times for the screen to come up)
then type timedemo demo1.demo usecache
using 1st beta version: full screen-12.4 FPS window- too choppy just on main screen and couldn't get into console
using current beta: full screen-13.8 FPS window- 13.7 FPS (800x600) since 640x480 too small on my screen..though window screen is stuttering during demo unlike full screen which was much smoother

Huno told me auto.cfg or default.cfg (in base/base) are not used. if you want to change something change it in Doom3-configs/base/Doom3.cfg (make a backup first)
for the timedemo, Huno was clever and added a shortcut : just bring back the console (win key + ²) and press arrow up et voilà !
EDIT: we tested the multiplayer and it requires a valid Doom3 key (to enter in the multiplayer menu tab)
Thanks for this, AutoExec.cfg does seem to work though. Just the impact of the tweaks either have minimal performance impact, or game breaking graphical impact.
