Thanks for the help! I tried the program and it would really work, but the amount of work there would be huge.
I tried to open the .info file with the program I use to make them, it works and it is easy to reduce the icon to 96x96 size and the image quality compared to that program is negligible.
Now I only need to go through all the .info files, so one big intermediate step (combining the images) is omitted.
It's true and that's why the icons I make are directly icon size 256x256, which is the maximum size.
Why i have to reduce the icons, well, this is because the icons also come to AmiKit and there is no size reduction in AmiKit, so the icons appear really big.
Finally, the last image has been saved from the icons. 4 colors is fully finished (Ancient copper, classic blue, ash grey and raven black) and now just merging the png files of the the def icons rest 3 colors and the work is done for the icons :)
I have great news, the icons are now 100% ready for use on Amiga OS4.
The next step is to test them in the environment intended for it and look for any possible errors that may exist.
I have found option to install the icons easily, I need to test this to see if it works.
Before the release I will make more new wallpapers, the aspect ratios are 5:4, 16:9, 16:10 and maybe something more exotic, i make the resolution as high as possible and then the OS will scale it down to a smaller aspect ratio.
There is still plenty of time until the release date so there will be plenty of time for all the adjustments and for making and testing any additional icons.
As I am someone who cares a lot about the look and feel of AmigaOs4.1 I am looking forward to your finished product and finally being able to buy it. As already mentioned great work and the icons are really beautiful.
Have you found a solution that your icon package can be installed automatically via an installer?
If so will all icons really be replaced with your new icons, what if I create new drawers under AmigaOs4.1 will you have a default look of your icons?
MacStudio ARM M1 Max Qemu//Pegasos2 AmigaOs4.1 FE / AmigaOne x5000/40 AmigaOs4.1 FE
I haven't found a solution other than installing those icons one by one, which takes about 45-60 minutes per color, after which you can use shell code to take one color from all the icons in the lha package, unfortunately you have to do this for the remaining colors as well, then once you've done it, it's easy to change the color.
This is definitely not what I'm looking for, but it's mandatory unless an easier solution is found.
When the def icons have been copied to the right places, the new folder will of course be created according to the icons you've chosen for it, this has worked from the very beginning.
ImageFX has a tool called AutoFX (located under the "hook" button.
It does not work 100% under AmigaOS 4 but AmigaOS 3 it's rock solid.
You navigate to your files on the left side of the window, use the add or insert button on the upper right (it is designed for creating frame based animations), then select the operations on the lower right. The default operation is "load.ifx" but you can chain things together like, resize, recolor, apply effects, etc. Once done you add the saver for the file format you want. If you pick PNG or JPG it will save single files. If you chose on of the animation formats will it save them as a single animation file.
It's a little clunkly but if you practice with it a bit it becomes very powerful.
