Dunno about on SAM. I ordered Nightlong from Forematt, got it today and tried it on my A1 with OS 4.1 - DSI straight away, won't allow me to ignore it.
I'll let you know if I can get it to work. The Readme recommends an 060 or PPC, but I think it uses CyberGraphics. Maybe that's the problem

the uae sitration on os 4.0 is very critical... allmost useless...

I could not find that section but now I see it I would not order from them again I ordered a scandoubler and foundation from then a number of years ago I am still waiting on the scan doubler and foundation came on a cd-r with a badly printed cd cover and an unreadable cd.

I could just of had a bad order but as I reserved a pirated copy of foundation according to the author when I e-mailed him at the time and I am still waiting on the scan doubler/flicker fixer I would rather go with ebay.

Are you sure you have the right place? Pretty serious concerns here I would say. Lets see what John has to say, perhaps he has information or could explain what happened in your case?

John? they are all 100% original CD32 and CDTV titles right (cdrom, printed inlay, manual if included etc)? sorry for the need for confirmation.

Hey guys,

some of us aren't concerned whether you can play the old titles on our SAMS or A1, they are old titles remember. The real deal here is the fact that a resource like this still exists.

I intend to get some tiles purely because they are not in my collection. Start another thread about how to get your old titles running under OS4 and keep this one free for trading enquries and related

thanks

Are you sure it was Forematt? I don't recall forematt ever having sold any hardware, but then, what do I know, I'm just old and senile

As I said it was many years ago, I was never charged for the hardware so it could have been worse.

But getting supplied Foundation on a CD-R was not a good thing but it was not expensive and I have been sold pirated software since then by another well known drop shipper so I am wary of drop shippers in general.

I don't know if anyone here has been burned by Butterfly media buy they sell pirated versions of lots of amiga games and other retro games through third parities see http://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php?t=3443&highlight=media for more details.

But as I said I have only had one bad experience with ForeMatt (at least the website looks identical) which may have been a one off and it was 3 or more years ago.

I remember playing the Prophet.
I enjoyed it for quite a while.
I like Dungeon Master/Eye of the Beholder type games.
I did come across a money making scheme but then after awhile it started
crashing and i gave up with it.

Yeah it's on the way - any ideas why it crashed, what was your set-up at the time? (060 for instance?)

I'm a big fan of RPG games - I REALLY would love to see Evil's Doom released for our favourite platform, I think that would have been one of the best RPG games ever on the Amiga.

If only I could persuade the authors to part with the source code....even for a fee....

Sounds more like Alive Mediasoft than Formatt Home Computing. Boy were there a lot of people "done" by that scam artist.

I think Forematt did sell hardware.
I'm sure I bought a second hand 1084 from them.

Bought Nightlong on Thursday from them and it turned up today (Saturday)
It is the genuine article, not a dodgy copy.

Quick service, cheers John.

Argh! I was ripped off by Alive Mediasoft, back when I was a poor student. Grrr.

It was because of them that I discovered a bug in Microdot-II. I accidentally hit "reply all" to an email which was from someone to lots of fellow disgruntled customers... and MD2 went nuts and started sending out hundreds of copies of the email to each person. I pulled the modem out of the phone socket as soon as I realised what was happening. Not a good day.

Yeah, So was I. I bought a copy of GoldED from them, only it turns out it was a pirated version. In the end Dietmer made a special deal for those who had been ripped off, where you could register your "fake" copy for ?15 ukp (which I did). But I had already paid Alivemediasoft ?35 for the GoldED disk, not including P&P

Not good.

Use the 1.1 version, that works for me on Sam.
1.2 just froze when trying to ignore DSI error.

That was the whole idea of my listings page on our website, so people who own a sam440ep, have an idea of what works and what deosnt.

for example, moonbases game works on my sam.and yes, they seem to have seven copies left to sell.

Anyway, hopefully in the near future the lsting will grow to be a very informative resource among amiga people and ofcourse, even ourselves.

Cheers.

P.S. If you look through the listing, you will notice that there are pc and mac games, alongside their patches dl from os4depot, or other a simple google search to find a particular patch.

Another example would be Marathon 2, a doom like game for mac, I play this on my sam, with the help of the aleph one patch.

Seems to be random if the game freezes on DSI or not.

Ive recieved my order, Nightlong.

wanted to know, the install is only meant tobe 130mb right?

Also, No matter which version I pick, i get nothing but a drainage of all my memory. At this point in time, i then need to hard reboot.

The holding down of the shift key, while double clicking, also does not being up the screnn selection menu, as mentioned in the addition info notes.

What am I doing wrong, or better yet, How can I get this working?

I had to play feeble files again, due to Nightlong not working tonight.

Any help from a fellow sam user may be deemed very helpful.

Cheers.
