Would that be the AmigaDE SDK? If so, it's not going to help. Download the OS4 SDK from here. Next, look at this site to get the cross-compilers and instructions on setting them up. It's no-where as easy as installing the SDK on a real Amigaone but it'll have to do for now.
thanks for your reply but i think JKFFDisp version 1.12 doesn't work on OS4 final. not even for 68k programs. i tryed ibrowse2.4 and some other 68k text editor. it just show garbage (mojibake)
it worked on previous version of OS4 though (OS4 pre3) but not anymore. Or i didn't set tooltypes correctly ?
Yes please do so! Everything that could help is welcome. If you need me to do something just ask. i'm on irc all the time.
thanks

@Vailiant:
...
some years ago, i helped a friend to build a japanese input method on morphos, just like this, explaining how the language actualy works.. he could made a working program to input japanese on morphos. (btw morphos used jkff to be able to display japanese) but jkff don't seems to work on os4.
it worked at some point in os4 too (pre4 i reckon) but only with 68k progs..
anyway feel free to ask anything you need.
see you
How do you use JKFFInput? I tried to use the new version Alfa just released on his site, but it doesn't seem to do anything although it does show up under the Status command.

Sorry for no guide my page. JKFFInput Ver0.01 work only appear/disappear window. Is JKFFInput work appear/disappear? Please try key combination "ctrl + o".
hi there Olfa is the one who develop JKFF. JKFF is a two part program:
1 part is "JKFFDisp" which enable amigaos to display japanese.
2 part is "JKFFInput" which enable japanese text to be typed on amigaos. it's an input method editor (IME / FEP) front end processor.
the new version alpha is just to try compatiblity with os4 comodity system, i think.
JKFFDisp doesn't work on os4 yet. (it worked on previous release but with only 68k programs) but now even with 68k progs don't work anymore on os4 final i think. unless i'm mistaken on the tooltypes.

I programming JKFFInput now.
Yes, JKFFInput appears in the Commoditiy Exchange and "ctrl + o" shows the interface. So I guess it's also working on my A1 here.

Olfa is working on a new version for OS4. the previous version worked for AmigaOS between 1.3 to 3.9 and Morphos and Amithlon etc ..
In the past i used JKFFDisp to display japanese, but i didn't used his input method (JKFFInput) too much. A friend on Morphos and me, we both created an IME from scratch, called Charabia. So i could use Olfa's JKFFDisp to display Japanese and Charabia to input Japanese. I still have the source somewhere if needed. but it wasn't that great to use, you had to enter text using the mouse on a virtual keyboard displayed on screen. I think Olfa's JKFFInput is far better. it's just at that time i didn't understand how to use it.. and couldn't read properly the docs to learn to do so.
So, my Japanese wasn't good enough to read the docs fully (JKFFInput), and i tryed it a bit but i've found it was a bit tricky to use. This was 4 years ago maybe a bit more? In the meantime Olfa port JKFFInput to OS4, you can still try the previous 68k versions which should work on 68k AmigaOS at least..(not sure for OS4). i don't remember from the small tests i did how to use it though.
On Olfa's website there's the docs, written in Japanese (he took screenshots of it) so even if you can't display Japanese you can read it as pictures.
here it's 23:30, i go to bed. tomorow i will try to read them again and post here a small overview in english.
edit: so basicaly: - the new version isn't usable yet. - and the old versions: i don't know if they work on os4. but you could try from inside UAE eventualy. but since you cannot display japanese, you wouldn't even see what you're typing... even if it worked i mean. well, except if you try from inside UAE this way everything should work as expected.
i tested also: 68k editpad from os3.9 result: no good Ed (68k os3.9) and Ed (OS4 PPC?) result: no good CED (the old demo from aminet 1987) result: no good
@joerg
yes you're right, thank you :) i've just tryed it out: http://keisangi.free.fr/amiga/jkff002test3.jpg it seems "text type" change itself automaticaly. so when i tryed with notepad, it didn't changed automaticaly.. means it couldn't recognize the text type maybe? with the files i created from my PC and the ones i created with JKED, Typemanager's sample text function "text type" change automaticaly to "unicode in utf-8".
