I get the impression some in this thread are confusing CAD programs (particularly Architectural) with simple drawing programs.
For those that haven't used CAD programs, they typically include the ability to draw, manipulate and edit things at different "scales" than what you see on the paper. Beyond that, they have a much deeper selection of tools and capabilities ("snapping", "layers", programmability, etc.) than a common drawing program.
AFAIK, Pagestream (as great a DTP app as it has been) has never tried to offer most of these drafting capablities.
DynaCADD, Cycas and a few other Amiga CAD programs have appeared over the years. But none have ever been close to "modern" or have seen their code touched in decades.
A real pity. I'd love to scrap using Macs for my CAD work.
What about getting DynaCADD and Cycas sources from authors, and then give it to me, and i will try to port it to aos4 native ?
I'm just trying to get in contact with the company that maketed it back then to ask them if they still have the DynaCADD Amiga sources and if they would be willing to release it to the community to port it to OS 4.x and "overhaul" it...

At least back in 1989-1992 (when I made my CAD analyst degree) it was modern and close to professional CAD solutions like Cadds4x on Unix work stations...
got a hold of DynaCAD v2 and it looks like a great little 2D package! after a few minutes of messing with it I had a simple plan done and was dimensioning it..
anyone know where I can find a manual for it though
I sent off a few emails too but got no response to date...let us know if you hear anything
Hmmmm - I found a phone number for CRP Koruk on the web and just tried to ring them - but the number is no longer valid...
I'll try to find out what happened to them - maybe they don't exist anymore...
Update: I just phoned with a lady from the city council of Konstanz - and she had a new address (snailmail) of CRP Koruk, but no e-mail or (official) phone number.
She just had a mobile number for their internal purpose. I asked her to ring them and give them my e-mail address and to ask them to contact me.
She promised to do so - so now I have to wait until they contact me.

It also is 3d. You can toggle between 2d and 3d by clicking the 2d / 3d button.

I write mail to author for now, and ask for aos3.x sources (for making aos4 port). Also i say that we can motivate him by sending for him new SAM , and maybe collect a bounty.
As i see, they do many nice programms in C++ , so maybe not only powercad can be ported (if author will be in interest).
I hope my mail will not be put to spam-box and he will read it.
btw. while we suffer from the lack between blue vs red vs whatever co-operation, it would be very nice to see co-operation between application SW autors to get more done fast. (for CAD, I think DiscreetFX, YYORUsiteguy, ImaginePPL etc. should co-operate)
btw. Also I am in pretty big need of 2D CAD tools. I fail to find autocad version that could open the .dxf files of our house design. I would like to bring the design up-to date and check measures of different parts. But it seems impossible in windows world with handfull of Autocad versions (autocad seems incompatible in every direction in autocad land, f*ck em ...). It's not the first time I have been forced to use a system outside of windows world to get some thing finished (thing that originally was started on the Windows platform).

Are they "too great ego" -kind of people as well ????

Not sure about ego (maybe not), but their "news" about nothing in last 2-3 years annoy pretty well. And while they works only at one normal project (aladdin), they still not have any working aos4/mos version , and cant show any screenshot of it, but they many times say about "3000 hours was spended on development" (which again, say nothing, because one for 3000 hours can do a candy, but another one, can jerky on code 3000 hours and do nothing). And yesterday i just for some interest going at a.org , and read their news , about "we will create bounty which will kick ass other bountyes", and after i read all of this, i start to think "did those guys are in clear mind, or already not?".
So, maybe there is not ego, but "fast/logical work" its 100% not about them. You can see that os4depot everyday have new releases, and some of them are good quality. And that all done by single persons. While so called "company" .. well.. you all know all of this imho :)
Their PR side is enthusiastic&overly optimistic, while the producing side underperforms (for whatever reason).
Often single persons seem more capable of focusing on some matter and get it faster done. (I think one of the reasons of the slow progress of Alladdin4+ is that it targets to be multiplatform (total rewrite etc.) and the non Amigaish OSX seems to be the developers number one system.)
