Are you sure? I often use it at work e.g. when releasing updated Oracle Forms modules into the customer's test environment; if any of their users have one of those forms open, the .fmx file (the compiled version of the form) is locked and cannot be overwritten. I just rename it and copy my new version in place, and the next time they exit and re-enter that form, the new one is used.
