I wonder why this is the case. It was designed for mobile devices, it should be possible to run faster... did you ever profile it to see where the time goes?

I played around with both some "custom-stupid-timekeeping" and Hieronimus, but I couldn't get anything coferent out of it. It seems that the time spent is evenly distributed over a wide range of functions, the event system itself being a biggie, but not overly. And I am not going to mess with the Qt event system...
