@Spirantho " - Type the name of a new adf file (i.e. a file that doesn't exist)" OK!
"- put in a known good Amiga DD file" ------> OK! "- check the prefs are correct" ------> OK! "- the unit number is correct" ------> OK! "- the flags are set to Amiga DD" ------> OK! "- then press Read Image" ------> OK!
"If it doesn't work, copy the devs/catweasel.device.debug devs:catweasel.device, run sashimi, and send me the sashimi log."
I got both. You will find gream reaper and the sashimi.out log, in the arc
It's found the controller now. Are you still using the Amiga XL drive? They do not have the same pinout, so try using a real PC drive if so! You can also try firing up the Prefs window, and setting it to use "RDY" signal on pin 34 (because Amiga drives do this!).
The error is that the disk drive is reporting no disk present....
What type of disk drive are you using? an Amiga one may not work, remember, and for it to stand a chance you need to be certain your drive is jumpered as unit 1 (not unit 0), i.e. DF1:. If you only have one drive connected, trying using unit 1 instead of unit 0 (remember to set your preferences too!)
I'll be on #amigadev on irc.amigaworld.net when I can today.
Now put those SIDs in, but be sure you jumper them correctly. :) You know what to do - set the preferences, start up the Vice build in this thread or on my webpage, and make sure you have the sound output connected from the CW. :)
Ian,does the CW installer mess with datatypes in any way cause I can't get any images to load up for the past few days and I've only been messing with the CW stuff recently...I started another thread here linky

I have some pictures of the Catweasel, and wounder wisch PIX are correctly? For the jumper?
Check page 4 of the manual (there's a copy at http://siliconsonic.de/t/catweasel-usermanual.pdf if you need it). You'll see that you for an 8580 you need the single jumpers open, and the paired jumpers closed. There's pics in the manual. Let us know how you get on :)
ok got my datatypes problem solved and now back to SID testing....so far have great sound but only on one speaker....tried playing with settings in the sterosidplayer with no luck...i think it was mentioned before but is there a program that can specifically test both SIDS ?
now back to playing some good ol jumpman before hitting the sack ..i also loe the noises the 3.5 and 5.25 drives make in my Samflex case...cool that they occur at much longer intervals the longer I have my system on
First thing is to make sure that both SIDs are working. You should be able to test this by changing the catweasel preferences to enable different SIDs on their own... i.e. enable SID 0, start x64, test the SID, close x64, enable SID 1 and disable SID 0 and repeat. You should get sound out of the other speaker.
To run it with stereo SIDs, enable both SIDs in Catweasel prefs, then in x64 SID preferences, enable Stereo SIDs and specify the base address to use. Then in Stereo SID player, press the Commodore key (usually left control I think) to get to the settings menu and check the second SID address. Make it the same as the address specified in the Vice SID settings.
Then try running a tune! Remember, though, StereoSIDPlayer requires an NTSC C64! If you run it in PAL, it'll freeze the tune after a few notes.
still no luck with reading any of my 64 disks..I'll send you a d64 made bu the superimage program which ahs all green lights when read but won't load up in VICE?
