Boyz relax ! Challenge or not there is no need to be crazy porting all Qt software in a few days, when you got tired just take a break, we have some time until the competition will be closed and all the software need to be tested carefully
Also remember that number is important but also the final quality it is
Hehe, I know that feeling, want everything in one day, html5, udp, boost, world peace, inner peace, green peas... So I took the day off, practiced some funky violin and fixed (most of) the issues with QProcess... Who could be happier than me? ;)
Deadline is 30th of August as originally proposed. I could, of course, also call an early ending, if one or all of you feel overburned and exhausted...? In any case, I recommend that all entities involved try and look away from stuff like The Prize, prestige, rank etc. and focus more on what is good for the community and it's constituent members... including yourself ;)
EDIT: And by the way, please direct any frustration involved towards me, as I am presently the only one able to fix things within Qt. In particular, if you feel the need for fixing, I am better available through email, as I get easily distracted looking at threads in here.
Email sent! I will not end the challenge until at least one of the combatants fall sweaty and (hopefully) wounded to the ground crying for mercy ;) No kidding, I am a little worried, that things could get out of hand, so just in case, I am throwing this out as an option.
ATTENTION: Judging from circumstances and code reading, there seem to be something lacking from QtWeb: UDP tracker and UTP socket support. This is needed for most new torrents (that you will want to download ;)). I will throw in an added bonus for whomever adds this kind of support to either the network/torrent example in the main Qt archive or to QtWeb. The info on doing so would be here:
It probably looks harder than it is. For one thing, the udp and utp stuff in libtorrent looks pretty straghtforward, but is sadly implemented using boost. Qt already has an UDP socket implentation, so the only thing needed is to put UDP tracker handling and UTP transfer protocol stuff on top of it.
By all means, don't stop the compo early! I am not in the lead! Don't worry, i am just having a bit of fun. :) I will get that zzd10h guy, just you wait! ;)
