@All I have sources of the Beret game from the author, check the video of win32 version: here
I already compile it, but sadly to say source not worring about endianes, and so, there is still need to fix some stuff before to have it on os4. Hope to sort this out soon.
@Joeled As i know, and AfxGroup and Huno port few boost libs (boost libs mean many libs inside, and games not use them all, one game use those boost-libs, another game other ones). And so, some of the boost libs are already ported, just not released.
Need someone who will just put his eye on all of this, and will report all the boost libs from more or less late version. And what is expectually need it: port boost-thread library.
For our current-old-boost annotation, ssolie write: "thread - the SDK C++ compiler supports single threading only" and beause of it thread boost library not ported. But that all of course can be workorounded and so on.
Just need someone skilled enough who will works on it. Maybe some AROS developers will do that soon or later, and then we can report it :)
I try Battle Tanks but with no luck, it doesn't work here !
Double click on the exe (also the exe of the editor) will not open it and it will try to open it with MultiView instead, then give an "uknown type of data" error
If i set it as tools in project icon i get this:
Quote:
[21:54:12.979][engine/src/main.cpp:79] [debug] before mrt::init_seed() [21:54:13.029][engine/src/main.cpp:82] [debug] before Game->LoadPlugins [21:54:13.034][engine/src/main.cpp:86] [debug] before Game->init(argc,argb) [21:54:13.042][engine/src/config.cpp:45] [debug] loading config from PROGDIR:btanks/bt.xml
BTW: 1 hour ago my PC is dead, so i can't reply at any mail or use my PC for other things, so if you mail me ..
I guess we have to wait a bit longer before you guys can start porting good games. Maybe after 4.2 release? There is alot of cool open sources games out there just waiting for Amiga
Ok i found the problem : archive not have "." directory, and when i pack it with lha, it just skips. So , create in the root "." dir, and it will works. Will of course remove that dep later, but just for fix it now (and if you will have no music, go to option, and level-up it).

Well, the 4.2 is need it only because of Gallium3d and Mesa. That mean shaders, and full opengl support in the whole, what mean that Salas00 can finish his Preambula port, i am can port Egoboo normally , as well as release DNT, AssaultCube , Cubosphere, Cube2 and some others. I also hope that even current Gallium3d+mesa combo, will be faster that our minigl/warp3d combo, and so, with warp3d wrapper for it, we will have all our currenttly ported games works faster as well (like SuperTuxKart, Nexiuz, UFO AI and others).
But of course, preferable will be x1000, just because of good raw power of cpu.
Still, for other games we will need to port Boost libs and some other deps.
Its very quiet from afxgroup? Maybe he is working on qt-apps? I hope he will release some new games after AOS 4.2
No i'm doing nothing Amiga related now.. i'm very busy with my real work almost till the end of this year.. I would like to compile something for QT but i need TIME.. and i haven't..
So, I just saw the newest Humble Bundle was out, and while some seem like a little too much, a couple look do-able. The ones that look like thye could be converted are Frozen Synapse (turn bases shooter, looks neat) and Trine (physics based scroller, real nice). Neither of those two have a Linux version yet, through Trine says Linux version coming soon. I think Trine seems totally Amiga like, and would make a great "next gen" amiga game.
The main page at humblebundle has all the info on the other new games, but I just saw that and thought it seemed like a good fit, and that it might be enough eye candy without running into issues with shaders & 3d incompatabilities.
I mean it has an Amiga gamne look and feel to it. Kinda like Black Lantern (?) from the old days. Has the multiple level 2D scrolling to it like in Shadow of the Beast, and doesn't have too much intense 3D graphics to make porting run into issues with incompatability. I imagine there must be some physics engine underneath the game to port, which could be used for other games perhaps?
