On Xe 933 with this configuration Alladdin Aga working much much better im sure on your Peggy will run like a real amiga ... if not upgrade it to 1,266mhz :P
Or you can try this configuration
cpu= 68EC020 Fullscreen 320x256 Immediate_Blits=false gfx_framerate=1 Cpu_speed = real
@tlosm I already tried a lot of options to make aladdin works fast back in past. Only way for peg2 is set frameskip to 1, all other settings didn't make much difference for that game. Without frame skip its slow and music jerky, and does not matter what else you set (other settings may do a bit of change , but nothing radical to make it works on peg2 without frameskip).
If with Jit there is no changes, then sad. But i will test it all myself later to be sure.
Sorry, just tried Aladdin and still really slow. I think Aladdin make use of the specifics of the AGA chipset and so won't really benefit from the JIT which acclerates only the CPU
@K-L Yep, that what Rachy says some time ago: some games/demos/apps can just have no differences with jit because of heavy usage of chipset. But if i remember right (can be very wrong and just mess it all in head after many years), that when winuae reach level of usability and x86 jit was on the way to be finished, i compare Aladdin with and without jit, and with it it was faster. But can be wrong, and can be all kind of other stuff involved.
Btw, interesting how will all those old-good demos works now with jit like Relec, TBL ones, and 68k ones from Potion before they switch to ppc..
Someone try adf games ? For me don't works any game in adf format. When I run, opens the workbench from RuninUAE, and a little window shows "run c". And then the system hangs.
Ed. Solved, my mistake, I changed the default tool of the .adf def icon.
Now works fine.
AmigaOne X5000 OS4.1 FEU1 And Lubuntu 10.04 1200 towered with Blizzard PPC - BVision and Mediator And a new fantastic Chameleon64
What system do you have? because if you have an old Ng ... will be more simple different is with an RadeonHd machine equiped... Are you running it tru RuninUae?
The big problem is No fpu and no mmu ... You will have for sure more MIPS compared with a 060 50 MHz but all integers... Plus everything depend how e demo is programmed... For sure the rtg demos will run great but have to run without fpu
You need to make a 320x256 with Picasso96 settings in prefs Make 8/16/32 bit resolution .. Copy this in run-inuae # UAE config for RunInUAE, which is designed to modify an existing working UAE config
# Use 3.1 Kickstart for Workbench, but allow ADF-booted games to still use an older Kickstart kickstart_rom_file=kick3.1.rom
# Emulate an A1200, but still allow A500 emulation for ADF-booted games enable_jit=yes cpu_type=68EC020/68881 comp_constjump=yes comp_trustbyte=indirect comp_trustword=indirect comp_trustlong=indirect comp_fpu=yes
cachesize=16384 cpu_speed=max chipmem_size=4
chipset=aga collision_level=none
# Emulate an expanded A1200 with 8MB of Fast Ram! fastmem_size=8 z3mem_size=8 # Set frame skipping (1=show all frames, 2=show every 2nd frame, 3=show every 3rd frame, etc) gfx_framerate=2
After launch runinuae and in menu bar select 320x256 fullscreen
If they are whdload versions then they will work, but I don't think the JIT will work with whdload as it turns off cpu caches and thus the JIT will be disabled.
I know the 68881 are not jit but are interpretate ... but is better have the 68881 in the emulation because some software need it for run... eg some games like quake or doom need it for start running.
... when os 3.9 will be ready to work with jit i will make some other test :)
