CPU: AMCC PPC460EX 1.2 @ 1166 Mhz ---> VIDEO BUS <--- READ: 72 MB/Sec WRITE: 261 MB/Sec The built-in video is on a 66Mhz, 32 bit bus. That works out to a maximum of 264MB/second. Sounds like the write speed is hitting the bus limit. Can't do much better than that! Why with SAM440, we are limited to 50 MB/Sec for WRITE ?
thanks for the Sam440 Patch for the READ speed and we have big chance Crisot made Ragemem !

The Sam440ep_setup patch released onto OS4Depot seems to have more than doubled the video bus read result on my Sam440ep-flex... @trixie So far AmiCygnix seems smoother than before, especially scrolling more complicated documents in AbiWord. Placebo effect maybe?

@328gts John, what gfx card do you use? Because I can see you have WRITE: 63MB/sec, while mine is still the same!?!

Doh... didn't notice the PCI_Update tool. I thought that it was for Sam440_Setup tool.

Before with the Sam440ep_Setup tool went to 32 MB/sec and now to 29 MB/sec. Is that normal?

@Phantom same as me but I figure its worht the 26% increase in write speeds so it's a definite improvement overall

@Akiko
Would it be possible to do a SysSpeed benchmark ?
Amiga 4000T, CSPPC@233Mhz, mediator
It would be interesting to compare MIPS results of this benchmark program and classic systems MIPS benchmarks.
Do we have the source code of SysSpeed ?
Would be nice to run on OS4 systems and create a final bridge of benchmarks from classic machines to PPC.

@samo79 I can't explain you why, but I can assure you this won't change anything. To be honnest, I'm not sure going from 25 MB/sec to 250 MB/sec will make a real difference. Video memory is "never" read. EDIT: Ho, well, on software like SREC, sure this value will make a hudge difference, since it's raw video memory reading... Appart from that...
