One problem I've noticed with VICE is this: modern joysticks are variable / proportional. In other words if you push the joystick a little bit left it only part left. Amiga joysticks were on/off like 5 switches (directions + fire). VICE doesn't read joysticks right. Probably it should be all the way left to read as Amiga left. Don't know if this has changed in new version, but fix would be appreciated.

@Marko Emulation of the new version from os4depot works at normal speed (x64) and I was able to configure a joystick without issues. But... * it prints out this when started: [filereq.c:285] CreateApp screen 0x0 * I get a lot of memory leak messages: util.c:174: Warning: Memory block(s) allocated here was not free'd (Memory leak with size 0x81 at 0x30ad1038). findpath.c:209: Warning: Memory block(s) allocated here was not free'd (Memory leak with size 0x16b at 0x30ad7470). util.c:186: Warning: Memory block(s) allocated here was not free'd (Memory leak with size 0x5 at 0x2e9522a0). joyai.c:701: Warning: Memory block(s) allocated here was not free'd (Memory leak with size 0x4 at 0x2e90a008). * trying to configure the 2nd joystick and selecting the generic_keyboard from the cycle gadget locked up the whole settings window and the whole emulator. I cannot click any buttons, can't close it and can't quit the emulator

I will have to pass on those reports to BSzili or Spirantho

@Marko
Could you also pass on one more request to Spirantho, please?
Maybe he could add the preliminary SID support from a Catweazel he did before...test version, outdated and doesn't work anymore (albeit i may have forgotten how i had to set it up properly)
Or if that support is already in, please tell me how to use the SID chips on my Catweazel with VICE...it's really the only reason right now i keep that piece of hardware in the X
Thanks

@Raziel
Consider it as passed already as Spirantho is the thread owner on this thread
@thread
What I mean is that I pass all reports to either BSzili or Spirantho here in this thread, as both have posted here in this thread.
I pretty much just packaged the VICE archive from publicly available files. I only swapped out the x64 to the one bugfixed by BSzili. And uploaded it, as it seemed nobody wanted to do it even if there was a demand. So I'm not involved with the VICE bugfixing itself, sorry.

@nubechecorre Huh? Why would I do that?

@BSzili
Great new version, thanks a lot
I get this (as does TSK)
[filereq.c:285] CreateApp screen 0x0
but i get it only (and everytime) the file requester window opens.
I know it's not an error as the program runs fine otherwise, but shouldn't that be suppressed or something?

@Raziel Suppressing the debug output in a debug build sounds contra-productive to me.

I fixed platform specific code, shared by all the emulators. All of my changes are in the official repo, so anyone can make a build from it.

I've downloaded the vice-2.4.tar.gz tarball under Source distributions from the
VICE site After several hours of building the Amiga versions on my Sam the build failed with an error in an header file.
Not sure really, if I was building the right source or in the right way, to be honest...
So, no OS4depot upload from me this weekend sorry :S
