[solved] X1000 broken or GFX card problem
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

See User information
Hi,
as my X1000/R7-250X doesn't display something et screen anymore, is someone could advice me ?

At boot, the gfx card fan begin to rotate but soon stop.
No output on my screen (no signal detected)

In the debug log, I see :
No suitable VGA device found in the system.

and from PuTTY, I'm able to start to boot but either in 4.1.6 or FE :

Picasso96 cannot configure your graphics board!
Either your board is not supported or there's a configuration problem.
Did you install PCIGraphics.kmod?

Is somebody encountered this problem ? GFX card broken and/or power problem and/or dead X1000 ?

Thanks

Is the R7-250X dead? Or, was the external power connector dislodged (or just plain not connected)?

I have occasionally forgotten to plug in the external power with my Radeon HD 7770, and the machine's behaviour is similar to what you describe.

i had 100 or more gfx board in my life and never die alone...
only ancient old die because capacitors and some because the fans.
Probably guillaume board was factory defected, i think is the only reason for the board die expecially in an amiga system where the gfx never use all it power

especially Graphics cards die these days. That is because a RoHS.

Componets are made lead free, so solderings are not what they used to be.

Luckily it is possible to fix these kinds of problems with kicthen owen. Turn it on, set temperature to 190-195c. Separate everything what you can and put it owen for 20-30min.

If problem is because a lead free solderings, it stars to work again after that.

And... do you usually have your gfx card with roast potatoes, or just some vegetables? :)
