Could really use an updated mkisofs

I use mkisofs in build-scripts, and it mostly works great. However, ISOs that contain empty directories tend to cause the CD filesystem to crash.

ISOs generated from the same source with AmiDVD work just fine, so there's something about how mkisofs encodes them that causes trouble. Unfortunately, you can't use AmiDVD to generate ISOs automatically using a script (AFAIK).

It would be great if someone talented in porting *nix software could update mkisofs, and make sure that the problem above disappears.

Sound like trying to fix a bug in the filesystem,by breaking some thing in mkisofs. The proper way should be fix the filesystem, if there is bug there, not make workaround that don't rally solve problems.

If I where you send a ISO file, or write a description that says how make ISO image, using mkisofs, and how you mount that ISO file, then maybe some Hyperion developer can look at problem.

Two things:
1. You obviously missed the bit where I said that AmiDVD generates an ISO from the same source (as in the same files and directories), and it works fine. Hence, there is a problem with mkisofs, and I'd like that to be fixed.

2. Yes, there is a CD filesystem bug. However, I don't want to be making ISOs that only work for people who have a bug-fixed CD filesystem installed. Not everyone will have the latest version installed.
