Lots of complaints on Amigaworld.net.

Yes, it polls events. There is a lot going on in the game behind the scenes and it needs as much CPU time as it can get.

And it pauses every so often because it is generating new chunks (and you have a slow CPU). I'm working on trying to distribute that wait more evenly.

It's all relative. Runs fine on my 4.7GHz PC.

I am still optimizing though, it should get faster.

Running it here. Very impressive.
Having worked through all of the AmiCraft pre Nove betas, this is an MASSIVE improvement. Thank you!

I have had GR on a few occasions. It seems to happen when I have the world size cranked up too high.

I use an x1000.

EDIT:
Just looked at the AW.net thread. I don't have an account there. I do get the 100% CPU, but no real issues with that. My game play with draw distance of 12 is a smooth 50-60fps. No hiccuping or jerkiness.

See if it is stable when you don't change the view distance after start up. I'll look into it.

Is there anybody here it and the openglse demos are NOT working for? if so please give your system specs: computer type + ram, graphics card + ram. It's not working for me.

It's not working for me either. I just get an error message in a console stating:

Failed to obtain ogles2.library interface

I ran Snoopy, tried again and saw this in Snoopy:

00518 : AmiCraftNova : o.k. = [exec] OpenLibrary("ogles2.library",0) [152735uS]

00540 : AmiCraftNova : o.k. = [exec] OpenLibrary("Warp3DNova.library",0) [66116uS]
00541 : ramlib : FAIL = [exec] FindResident("ogles2.l.main") [9uS]
00542 : ramlib : FAIL = Lock("LIBS:ogles2.l.main",SHARED) [31uS]
00543 : ramlib : FAIL = Lock("CLASSES:ogles2.l.main",SHARED) [21uS]
00544 : ramlib : FAIL = Lock("CURRDIR:ogles2.l.main",SHARED) [17uS]
00545 : ramlib : FAIL = Lock("CURRDIR:Libs/ogles2.l.main",SHARED) [17uS]
00546 : ramlib : FAIL = Lock("CURRDIR:Classes/ogles2.l.main",SHARED) [15uS]
00547 : ramlib : FAIL = Lock("PROGDIR:ogles2.l.main",SHARED) [11uS]
00548 : ramlib : FAIL = Lock("PROGDIR:Libs/ogles2.l.main",SHARED) [16uS]
00549 : ramlib : FAIL = Lock("PROGDIR:Classes/ogles2.l.main",SHARED) [15uS]

AmiCraftNova appears to successfully open the ogles2.library and then is looking for a seperate OS4 Interface file (as though ogles.library were a 68k library).

My System: X1000 with OS4FE, 2GB ram and Radeon HD 5450 graphics card with 223,584,512 bytes free memory.

I wouldn't say that. A few people have commented about 100% CPU load and they might have incorrectly assumed this means there's a problem. That misconception has been corrected. Severin is having general trouble with anything OpenGL ES, so that has nothing to do with AmiCraft. Likewise, Xenic not having the right hardware for Warp3D Nova isn't your fault.

The only genuine issue is SinanG's pauses. I don't remember seeing any pauses myself. I tested it on an A1-X1000, so perhaps the new geometry generation is fast enough on that.

@All

Remember that Warp3D Nova and the GL ES wrappers are works in progress too...

Hans

EDIT: Corrected that it's SinanG with the pauses, not Spectre660.

Actually it s SinanG/SinanSam460 who is experiencing the pauses. Sounds like on an X5000 too .

Works well on the X5000, I do also get consistent pauses, I'll time it and do more testing and post back here.

These pauses are happening when moving around right (just before new parts of the map start appearing)? Not just if you stand still and move the view around? And the pauses are under a second or so?

I've spent a few hours optimizing those routines today and they are much faster now. I still get little pauses on my SAM460 but there should hardly be any on an X1000 or X5000 (I hope).

Yes it's a Mincraft clone. It's a sandbox game where you can build structures and craft useful items like weapons and tools using the elements that make up the world.

There's 2 modes of gameplay, survival and creative. In survival mode npcs spawn at night are hostile and you have to either fend them off with weapons or build a defensive structure to keep them at bay until daylight.
In creative mode you don't have any hostile npcs to worry about and can just get on with exploring, mining and building.
