That's not how it looks from here. Are you sure, that your download was successful?? I have tested both my original file and the one downloaded from os4depot, and none of these show the symptoms, that you mention.

Does anyone else have these problems?

@alfkil,
me no.
But starting juffed I get in the console the message:
"libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile".
Anyway juffed works well.
I have also a very long startup time maybe related to
fontconfig problems and I am investigating on this issue

I have slow startup times too - it's fontconfig.
Unfortunately fc-cache appears to be completely broken in FEU1, which was my usual fix.

@alfkil Any chance you can ditch libfontconfig? Is it still needed with the AmigaOS font renderer?

libfontconfig has to be my most hated library. All it appears to do (on OS4 - I'm sure it's great elsewhere) is make things take ages to start up

I never had any problems with Odyssey start-up time

Yes, and I have had numerous problems with it scanning fonts on startup as I don't use it very regularly.

Is there any chance we will see assigns in qt amiga applications?
Arexx port might be the easiest way (?)

I am not very keen on ditching fontconfig. I think, that some text functions use it regardless of whether Qt is configured to use AmigaOS fonts or not.

Also native fonts are not perfect. It has very limited character sets (ie. does not support unicode etc), and it is very slow in some cases due to the fact, that it does not come with a cache function (this is my fault, but I am not se keen on having to create one at this point).

That's a shame. You might want to look into if you can replace them.

The way around this is to open the font and use the BulletAPI rather than the graphic.library functions.

As an aside, it would be useful if somebody could wrap the font opening/closing and UTF-8 text plotting routines into an external library. I was going to do this at one point but got distracted!

@all,
I resolved the long startup time replacing libfonconfig.so
with the one from 4.1FE and it seems all working well

I have made a library that does that, its called UTF8.library it does the UTF8 to graphic.library stuff.

I use it in LiveForIt-Music, so it can be downloaded from my webpage, the SDK for it needs to be updated as its out of date.

Anyway I have hand coded my own custom GUI, I'm not sure how simple it going to use it some thing as big as QT or GTK, I because this things are big, and any changes you do need to do has to be reapply-ed as download newer versions from the linux people, the Linux people properly don't care about this little community, anyway.

I've downloaded and installed the latest Qt from OS4 Depot, and every program seems to be using Greek letters to spell English words in the titlebar and menu.

Has anyone else seen this happen?
