EDIT:
I've had enough testing offers thanks, so I don't need any more.

I'm looking for a few people to test an OS4 program that I've been heavily working on for the last 2 years, called eNewsReader. You can read a description of it on this web page:
http://cshandley.co.uk/enewsreader/

I'm especially interested in testing it's Facebook functionality, since it's only just been approved for public use by Facebook (*), so I haven't been able to do much testing of that part yet. (* It might possibly be the first Amiga-only program to have been approved by Facebook??)

What you will need:

* A Facebook account, and preferably a Twitter account too. (Note: Twitter login works with NetSurf, but Facebook requires Odyssey.)

* A machine running AmigaOS4.1 (preferably Final Edition, but Update 6 with the latest AmiUpdates should suffice), with a reliable internet connection.

* The most recent Odyssey web browser installed (needed for Facebook login), i,e. the May 2016 release on OS4Depot.

* I also strongly advise installing OdysseyLauncher2.

* At least a few hours a week to spare, so that you have time to properly test & provide feedback on it. (i.e. I don't want to just get an email saying "it doesn't work", I will need details, be able to ask you further questions & ask you to try possible solutions, within a reasonable time frame, otherwise testing is pointless.) I guess that might sound a lot of time per week, but maybe 0.5 hour every day or two should be enough (most of which I hope will be spent using eNewsReader instead of your normal method of catching-up online with news/Facebook/Twitter).

Note that the testing will be done on the "demo" version of eNewsReader (which is pretty-much the full version, except limited to 10 news feeds). I have yet to decide how I will sell the full version (possibly AmiStore or just selling keys to unlock the demo). To avoid getting the wrong kind of interest in "testing" it, I will NOT be providing the full version as a reward - but hopefully just the chance to use it weeks (a month?) before it's public release will be enough (as well as a thank-you in the documentation).

Let me know if you have any questions about eNewsReader, or if you are interested in testing it...

Everyone should now have a PM asking them for their email address.

But please don't expect that you will all get to test it straight away. I shall probably start with 2-3 people testing it, and if all goes OK then let the rest of you guys test it too. (And if that continues to go OK for a few weeks, then release a public demo.)

(EDITED) One person hasn't responded, nor provided their email addresses, so I could probably use another tester...

eNewsReader is now hopefully close to being released. I've just finished what I hope will be the last version for testing.

Downloaded and its quite amazing program!!!

Any intention to make it localizable (.catalog)?

And maybe a minimal Project menu with Settings,Iconify,About,Quit will be handy.

Maybe some kind of newsbar (ala XNet-RSS has scrolling newstext) will be nice (or as a docky plugin)

I'll be glad to pay for it 5/10 EUROS as a small fee to use the "free/full" version.

Please do not post in this thread any further, as it was only supposed to be for beta-testing.
