New Warp3D drivers and board versions
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

Hi all!

Is there an 'official' list of the types of Radeon boards, that are supported by the new Warp3D/Warp3DNova drivers? I am a little confused, because the different sources seem to differ, and because the board I purchased seems to be non-functional with the drivers.

PDF from A-Eon:
http://www.google.dk/url?q=http://www ... v7zapWGqevLlrkcKgyTdPmIHA

AmigaOS wiki:
http://www.google.dk/url?q=http://wik ... Lrcsvduu2H5eJ-sd8YVkTjDHw

I have purchased an R5 230 card after looking at the PDF. It doesn't work. I am not sure if it has GDDR RAM or not (the advert said 'yes' and the box seems to say 'no').

Your first port of call when it comes to supported gfx cards should always be Hans compatibility site

Your Radeon R5 230 is a rebranded Radeon HD 6450 and they both use the Caicos chipset which is, at best, partially supported (see the Radeon HD 6000 series entry in the link above)

Take a look here as well for more information.

Sorry, but it seems you grabbed a card that isn't (and probably never will be) supported

Well... I am not sure I aggree. The card in fact works perfectly well. Just the Warp3D drivers do not recognize it. The page you link to is a list of all the cards, that are supported by the RadeonHD.chip 2D driver. Not a list of supported Warp3D or Warp3D Nova cards. In fact there is no such information on Hans' page.
Not as far as I can see, anyway. But then again, I am pretty short sighted.

The Radeon R5 230/235/235 support was listed in error.
They are supported by the RadeonHD 2D driver but not by the 3D drivers.

Want to continue work on your bananabar ?:) Beta was pretty interesting (just found it yesterday on peg2's hdd, when sorting things). Sadly you go for r5-230 .. Dunno if it help, but if there is chance to replace, then go for r7-250. I got that one and it works well for everything (old w3d/minigl, new w3d nova/opengles,etc):

Just noice loud because of fan, but speed and support wise from os4 side is fine enough.

The R7-240 cards are on the Warp3DSI/Nova compatibility list.
The performance will not be as good as either of the two cards mentioned in the previous posts.

well that is good news to hear that the R7-240 cards are on the Warp 3D compatible list. I did wonder why Amigakit were offering to supply me an X5000 system with this card instead of a Radeon R7-250 when i enquired about purchasing a complete system last week.
