Is this TuneNet sub-forum read by the new owner of TuneNet?

As the subject says, does the new owner/support of TuneNet still use (and regularly check) this sub-forum?

The only other option seems to be AmiStore's "bug report" option for Enhancer Software, which appears to go to A-Eon, but I have heard of such emails not getting through to the developer...

All bugs should be reported on:

Thanks

Urgh, not *another* account that I have to sign-up for, just to make one report :( . (That's quite a big hurdle/disincentive. Using this forum (or email) would be much more preferable...)

ALSO, where should feature requests go? (That's what I really wanted to do.)

You can rise your feature request on the same place:

http://www.amigadeveloper.com/bugreports

(TuneNet section of course)

Hi

You could let me know the feature requests here too (but file them for recording)

We have already implemented a lot of ChrisH's requests already over the last year

Incidentally, the AmigaDeveloper.com website's login will be well used because it covers all of the new software and hardware that is being produced, including RadeonHD, Warp3D Nova, Ringhio Notifications to name a few.

It would be helpful if TuneNet could support playing AAC files. Sometimes it's only possible to get music in that format, and converting to MP3 is really troublesome (even using Windows)... never mind the potential reduction in sound quality.

AAC is getting more common, and now there seem to be a (IMHO misplaced) suggestion that MP3 should/will be scrapped (esp. now that it's no-longer licensable) :

Some radio stations also only use AAC, rather than MP3.

There is a plugin for AAC IIRC on os4depot.net I don't know how well it works.

I already have that installed... but it doesn't work. TuneNet won't let me add AAC files to the playlist, and if I edit the playlist with NotePad/etc to add an AAC file then TuneNet still won't play it. Also AAC radio stream won't play.

TuneNet lists the AAC plugin in Prefs > Plugins, and I have the required Faads.library installed.

Well the faad.library that's based on is very old, so maybe that's not suprising.

libfaad2 appears to be GPL though which is unhelpful.

It appears there's and android aac codec that has bsd license, might be abe to use that for a plugin.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Although IMHO an Enhancer Software *sub-forum* would make more sense than a thread. (That way each piece of software could have it's own thread(s), making it much easier for users to see if an issue has been discussed before, and easier for the respective developers to see if anything relevant to them has been posted.)
