so could shogo be installed with rewarp, iff you do a hack or run a patch or something

Hello

Perhaps ReWarp will need to have those 2 functions patched too as recent Warp3D V5 drivers may not implement them anymore

W3D_ClearZBuffer(context, &Zclear); patched to new W3D_ClearBuffers(context,NULL,&Zclear,NULL);

W3D_ClearDrawRegion(context,&color);patched to new W3D_ClearBuffers(context,&color,NULL,NULL);

I'm following the progress on ReWarp on GItHub, I have not seen any updates in along time. Is project alive?

reWarp / ReWarp3DPPC does not work AmigaOneX1000 RadeonHD7750 and RadeonR9 280X

Heretic II - black screen, grim reaper

Payback - only "software mode" work, freeze intro, no sound

Wipeout2097: http://amigaone.pl/robocze/outpu2t.avi

PS.
ReWarp3DPPC:
Can only support Radeon R200?
Maybe Hans will help add support 3D for RadeonHD/R9

Not sure what you're asking here. 3D support for RadeonHD/R9 cards already exists in the W3D_SI driver. This includes support for the older Warp3D API functions, including W3D_ClearZBuffer() and W3D_W3D_ClearDrawRegion() which thellier mentioned.

If old WarpOS games don't work on recent machines like the A1-X1000, then it's a ReWarp problem, and its authors need to find a fix. That said, some of those old games were rather buggy, exploited old Warp3D driver bugs, and only worked on older systems out of pure luck.

Looks like we can get AmigaOS4 port of Heretic II maybe, some is working on a open source recreation.

That would be nice. I never played the game all the way through but still have the discs. I wonder if Hyperion would be still be able to sell the WarpOS version under the original license. Could be an extra revenue stream if they made it available as a reasonably priced download.

Interesting (if off-topic!) . It looks a lot better some weeks later:

Hyperion have the source-code for the original ports, so they could update them.

I feel the need to comment on this:

ReWarp only works on Voodoo and some extent R100 and R200 cards. This is due to Warp3D not totally being backwards compatible (or the old Warp3D programs being buggy as Hans says).

Initially even the R100 and R200 froze at certain functions but with the patches of Alain most of the stuff is now working with the old Radeons. There are still artifacts in e.g. Shogo with an old Radeon.

I expected most games to be using MiniGL? As its closer to OpenGL, as that's what PC games used from the beginning. Daniel Müßener is making good progress on his MiniGL for Nova. Maybe this problems are not going to be a so big problem, when its done.

I do test a bit ReWapr/ReWarp3DPPc on my x5k with r7-250.

To start with, initial powerpc.library doesn't work at all on x5000. I.e. ISO have it, but it do nothing. Application even can't load it, and says "no powerpc.library found". So, probably that should be removed from ISO of x5k as well.

Then, i tested ReWarp just with 3 demos: Sulaco by Encore, ByNight by Encore and CullBazaar by MadWizzards.

All of them kind of runs, but almost all the time give black triangles all over the place (madwizard demos) and no effects visibly (demos from Encore). Then, i also tried ReWarp3DPPC.

For Sulaco and ByNight almost no changes. But, CullBazar now runs without crashes, through, almost no effects visibly (the same as with demos from Encore), plus, every 2d image mixed with black triangles all over the place.

Then i tried wazp3d.library (as warp3dppc.library "just" redirect to warp3d.library), and, then all demos runs fine, almost without visual bugs, all works, just slow (yes, even on x5000) as well as crashes in library itself when testing madwizard's demos. But Encore ones works fine with in terms of visual output.

Also tried AlyBox (some old minigl based warpos game) : it didn't work because want lucyplay.library, but once i downlaod one from aminet (5.0 version), it says "can't initialize joystik".

Tried then just GLSockoban (it is warpos + warp3dppc.library usage): crashes. Crash can be ignored, and then just black screen :)

In other words, nothing good to report at moment :)

I also tried Frogger (maybe some of you remember that video player, which was more or less popular when amigas got ppc, video cards and co):

http://frogger.rules.pl/downloads.html

There is warpos vesion as well. So, i tried it : it runs. I even can open a video. And i can even watch first 4-5 frames, and then it just stops. Also those first 4-5 frames renders slow like hell :)

What working on your x5000 ? I told about many things there, what you mean there ? What exactly working for you from my list ? Frogger ? Demos from madwizzard ? Alybox ? Only amiga ?

Warp3DPPC redirects to Warp3D
Wazp3D does not redirect. You rename it to Warp3D in place of the HW renderer.

Then Warp3DPPC in affect redirects to Wazp3D (and then stuff works, albeit slow).
