Running Wipeout 2097 on X5000

Hi All

I am trying to get Wipeout 2097 to run correctly on the X5000. My X5000 is running with a Radeon HD7750 card btw

I have downloaded the latest Rewarp (build 66) and Rewarp3DPPC (build 11) builds.



The game will only let me open this in software window mode (it does not give the option to use double buffered or triple buffered screens as these options are blanked out)

I press play, the first title screens show and then a black screen.


Has anyone with an X5000 managed to get this to work yet and if so how?

It doesn't work on the X1000, either. I've done some experimentation, and the W3D_SI driver's old API support isn't working as well as I'd hoped.

However, the game also crashing (outside the driver, so it's not a driver issue), so there's a good chance it still won't work properly even if the driver were fixed. Ideally, the game would be rereleased using MiniGL.

That said, you could try patchwarp3d, to see if it helps.

cheers for the advice Hans, I've tried the PatchWarp 3D
from Aminet and that doesnt work either.

I will give it a crack under Wazp3D as i managed to get that working on my Sam460, but it was quite sluggish

cheers for the heads up with the video it was quite useful

Wipeout 2097 works under Wazp3d.library but not Warp3D.library which is a shame as i will then have to keep changing the file names for it to work but its a start at least.


it moves a lot quicker under Wazp3d on the X5000 than it ever did on the Sam 460 so its actually quite playable

Someone suggest a scriptable way to do the library swap without repeatedly writing to LIBS: ?
Maybe RAM disk.

Thanks for the tip, will try at some point.

It is a shame that modern Warp3D is not compatible with classic Warp3D
