I tried your Version script and also checked with Diropus but version does not return anything.
I vcan confirm my old RadeonHD.chip was placed in storage and a later version different size file installed into kickstart.
so old Radeon.chip is 1662476 in size and dated 24.10.16 whilst the new Radeon.chip is now 1672456 in size and dated
25.03.17

Ummm, recompile it? (If you are really that distrusting of the author!)

Although I have to wonder what you do on Windows/Mac/etc, where compiled installers (without any source code) is the norm...

I have just changed the Enhancer Software Installation so it now creates a directory in ENVARC:Enhancer_Software and ENV:Enhancer_Software so it permanently stores your Icon colour preferences and also remembers the backup path. The latter was a bug and should have been already working but Installer wanted another set of ( ) around the condition.

Er ... avoid them?

Or to be more precise: At work they give me a Windows machine to work on, and they update it centrally, so I trust them to fix any problems arising from that. (AKA, SEP

).

At home, I do use Windows for a few things, but I don't trust it with my important data or do any important daily tasks on it.

Never used it, don't think there's any documentation, and I'd have to learn Python, so can't comment on its functionality. It doesn't appear to be able to do anything Installer can't already do though.

edit Sorry, after posting this I felt compelled to point out that Installer isn't as scary as people seem to think. There's even an Installer script creator on Aminet if you don't want to handwrite scripts (I've not used it so not sure how good it is).

What about supporting multiple local exception/error handlers, rather than only a single global one?

I would also consider the lack (((((insane (((bracket (((usage))) ))) ))))) to be a big plus :) . OK, Python goes a little too far in the opposite direction, but I could probably live with that.

IMHO the ideal scripting language for an installer would be JavaScript, simply because 'everyone' knows it. (The Ambian.js guy would probably agree, despite being a long time Pascal fantatic.)

I understand your POV, but apart from having a severe dislike of languages (mainly Lisp) which use (((brackets (((for everything)))))), I also prefer to improve PortablE to handle as many tasks as well as possible. (Otherwise I would just be using C for everything, and not bother creating PortablE in the first place.)

I use this thread hope to do right. With the latest Enancher Software update, my usb has a lot of problem (i don't know why) and Amiga Input doesn't work anymore, everytime i get a GR.. I attach here the crashlog. My system is a Sam440ep:

This thread was really intended for problems with the update process itself (not problems after the update seemingly completed OK).
