http://os4depot.net/index.php?functio ... e=utility/archive/lhx.lha Hi, I've uploaded an alpha of new program (archiver) called L7z. It creates (or helps to) 7zipped lha archives...
The main stuff, compress and unpack should work.
If you find any issues or bugs, please let me know? Any other thoughts are welcome?
Bye
EDIT: Renamed program to Lhx (from L7z), and updated link

@Marko What advantage does it give to put and lha archive in a 7zip container?

@broadblues Better compression, I assume. I'd rather see a native 7-Zip which can store all Amiga attributes and comments in a compatible way.

@broadblues Yepp as Chris said, Lha keeps the Amiga protection bits and comments, but 7zip compresses it.

@Marko Given that you are not using 7zip as an archive format but simply as a compressor it would make more sense to use xz format for compressing the uncompressed lha file. AFAIK it uses the same compression method as 7zip but since it's not an archive format the resulting file should be slightly smaller. Essentially it would be like .tar.xz but with uncompressed lha instead of tar (i.e. .lha.xz).

@salass00 The compression/decompression code would be smaller and simpler too.

@salass00 Hmm, yes you are right, xz would be better to use in this case since the files are already in a lha container yes, thanks for the suggestion. I will look into it more closely and once (and if) I've implemented the compression with xz, I'll release a separate program or rename this program to Lxz perhaps... For users the name Lxz might be little too confusingly similar to Lzx though..?

Yet another new release up now OS4Depot! I still got a few more issues I want to fix before going out of alpha into beta, so I can delete that awful message at the top in readme ;) Anyway, everything that is advertised in documentation should work (in readme/help/manual).

Why not use the same command line options as LHA and LZX that people are used to? Just a suggestion. =)
