Accessing the host file system from VICE

Hi,

I have trouble accessing Amiga volumes/directories from VICE. Is that feature available on the VICE's Amiga version?

Am I right that selecting "Virtual device traps" from the VICE's Options menu should activate the feature - give the emulated computer access to the host file system?

No, "virtual device traps" is a trick to reduce the effort expended on drive emulation (with no traps and disk drive use, two processors are emulated full time).

OK, thanks.

I tried VICE 2.4's macOS version and by default the emulated computer has access to the host file system. I can get the directory listing of the host file system like this:

LOAD"$",8
LIST

However, on Amiga the LOAD"$",8 command returns a FILE NOT FOUND error.
