Undelete files from sd card?

Is there any software for os4 that can undelete files from sd cards, usb or other media?

If it's formatted in an Amiga filesystem you can try PartitionWizard.

If you want to stick it in a PC, PhotoRec is very good (and recovers more than just photos).

Hmmm. Any volunteers for a bounty?
Would be very practival to have this possibility on os4.

I just managed to delete a pile of photos on an SD card.

I don't have a PC, just several NG Amigas.

Is there any software that works under OS4 ?

It really depends on the file system the card uses:

If it's SFS or JXFS, the deleted files are in the ".recycled" directory.
If it's FAT32, then a PC is the only way to go (unless there is something on AmiNet or OS4Depot).
If it's FFS, then the Trashcan or PartitionWizard.
If it's NGFS, then use the NGUndelete command.

I don't know about any other file systems.

It is one used in a FUJI camera so it will be FAT, I don't think Amiga file systems would work in other devices ? There seems nothing on Aminet or OS4Depot that would do it.

I don't have nor want a PC so that is not an option.

I did manage to download something that ran on my wife's MacBook, so the data is on her machine until I get around to transfering it back to my X1000.

Isn't that only available to beta testers? Which reminds me I need to sort out all my passwords for that, as I lost them a while ago when managing to destroy a hard drive

Well, both PhotoRec and TestDisk are open source, so someone with enough skills should be able to compile them for OS4.

It recovers files from FAT, NTFS, ext2/3/4 or HFS+, so it should be enough for your card.

Even if you don't have a PC, borrow one and try PhotoRec, at this moment I don't think there's anything on Amiga to recover files from FAT partitions.

Edit: I have just seen your wife has a Mac: there's a version of PhotoRec for Mac.

There is a version of TestDisk for macOS too.
IIRC there was one for Linux PPC too, so it should work on the X1000. I'm fairly sure I had it installed on Ubuntu 12..

I do keep measning to install Linux on my X1000. Maybe this is the incentive to get around to it.

It's virtually unportable, lots of low level device access stuff.
