Soundblaster Live audio problem

I have a problem with audio of my Soundblaster Live..

Everytime that i see a video file or i hear an audio file i have to run the mixer program to boost the audio..
note that i have to do this everytime with every single file..

As suggested me from Davy Wentzler ( submitter of audio driver on os4depot ) i used the command " mixer SET LEVELS " in the user-startup but the problem remains..

Is there a workaround for this problem ?

I have the same problem, audio volume changes only when i open Mixer. But on my system volume is quite ok even without loading Mixer so i never investigate the problem.


I have a SB Live too.

The same happens here, it always has done for me no matter what update though now I don't need to use the mixer as the volume seems ok as with Ikir's.
I also have a soundblaster.

It has to be 'SBLive' only problem. It doesn't exist with
SB128. Any AHI settings affect it?

Well.. i don't know if my AHI settings could affect it..

I have unit 0 to 48000 of audio frequency, channel to 10 and Volume to +0.0dB..

I tried but nothing changes..if you run Tunenet with an mp3 and then run mixer you have a boost up.. i start thinking that is a problem of soundblaster live.. i havent' this problem with audio onboard and with the soundblaster audigy..

I used a ABLive! card in my XE for a year or so with none of those problems.

Have you actually clicked 'save' in mixer? running setlevels without that will do nothing.

Are you running the latest ahi drivers? they where rewritten for os4 final, if you use ones from your pre 4 install you will get wierdness.

What slot is the card in? Bottom is best (as the actress said to the bishop)

Have you checked it's in the slot properly? cleaned the contacts?

Ok i'll check all these things.. for the pci slot i have only one slot in the micro..

I have solved the problem adding more volume in the main option screen where there is " volume " i set it to "+12.0dB"

Why are you wasting your only PCI slot with an SBLive? it's no better than the onboard sound...
