Warp3D Nova Tutorials Book Released

The Warp3D Nova tutorials on my blog have gotten buried so, at Jamie's suggestion (thanks Jamie), I've collected them, added a few more tutorials and put them into a book. This is the first book on Warp3D Nova.

It's available now on Kindle and in paperback. Click here for more details.

Hans

P.S., This really should be posted as a news item, but I've posted it as a forum thread because the introductory discount is only available for 48 hours (i.e., it needed to be posted ASAP).

Both links on "click here" broken. First one on paper version give 404 because have double "keasigmadelta.com" in the url, and second one have missed :// after http.

Sorry about that. Something appears to be going wrong with the CMS my website is running on. I already fixed the links a few times, so I'm rather annoyed that they still ended up wrong.

They're fixed now.

Glad you like it. I thought hard about colour, because black & white would lower the print costs a lot, making the book cheaper while giving higher royalties. In the end, I decided that the colour code syntax highlighting is worth the extra cost.

Quick update: I found time to create the PDF version, so the book is now also available in PDF format, which has the bonus that you can read it on AmigaOS (we have PDF viewers, but no Kindle).

Click here to get it.

Got pdf version in meantime while waiting for paper one , and book reads quite easy. You even mention Capehill's glsnoop , which is cool as well :)

Thanks. I'm really happy that glsnoop exists, because we need tools like it.

I like your screenshot of the PDF on AmigaOS.

When Amazon emails you asking for a review of the book, please take a few minutes to write one. People do look at the reviews when deciding to buy or not...

Not sure how much time you've had to read, but what do you think of the books so far?

Started yesterday and read tutorials 1 and 2. It's amazing to read a new book on Amiga graphics programming in 2019. Thanks for printing it in colour. I guess I will have more to say when I have finished it.

Did you consider a Github project for tutorial code? I can see some links in the book.

I find the tutorials very well written; if only I had more time to experiment! Not having done any 3D programming before I need some time to get used to the fundamental principles. When I get beyond these, I assume GLSL shader code can be taken directly from various OpenGL examples to use for further experiments with Warp3D Nova?

I'll leave feedback on the book on Amazon soon.

Thanks guys.

@Capehill
I have the code in a private repository, but prefer to give direct downloads from my company's website. Third-party services can come and go (e.g., imagine if I'd put the code on Google code before it got shut down).

@trixie
Yes, you can use GLSL code from OpenGL examples.
