I am glad to inform you that a new version of aiostreams scripts is at os4depot upload queue. The new version 1.4.1 is mostly about fixes and a necessary workaround for the Dlive.tv website, which now it seems to work just fine under AmigaOS 4.

Also the issue with twitch and emotion is fixed, although that the other scripts are not going to work with this player, since it doesn't support https video sources.

Please test it. I would be glad to read your feedback.

At the moment I have only tried twitch.tv
Thanks.

I finally figured out what broke the networking in WinUAE (and every other VM I have for that matter), so I was able to try out the dlive script. Unfortunately it doesn't work for me, for every channel and video link I get:
Quote:
HTTP Error 400: Bad Request
There was an error with the m3u8 reading

I have AmiSSL 4 and PythonSSL installed, and they appear to be working otherwise.

Is that with MPlayer or ffplay? MPlayer has issues (that also exist on PC).

AmiSSL isn't required for either player.

Thjis problem comes before even open the ffplay/mplayer. It seems that it can't get the m3u8 url. Do you get any messages about SSL errors as well?

I don't get any other message other than what I quoted. I'll try the script on Linux to see if it makes any difference.

edit: I just tried it in a VM, and the script works fine in Linux.

currently dlive.py works with generic ffplay with winuae
vPlayerArgs "" <---- here I have no idea what I could put to make it more fluid
Emotion does not work "unknown format"
Unfortunately MickjT does not work.
I hope it's useful
Here the video of a few minutes, thanks for every suggestion.

Emotion works only with Twitch. All other streaming platforms need HTTPS, not supported by Emotion (only ffplay will play their streams).

@K-L,
thanks for the info, I was convinced that emotion worked with all the scripts.
I had only tried twitch-tv so far.

@BSzili
I'd like to see how winuae works with amigaos4.1FE on a different computer than mine.
I currently use a I5 2400 so a little old.
What computer do you use? Thanks.

I'm confused at the moment mickjT-mplayer works with dlive.py
not perfectly but it works, it doesn't crash, probably the parameters available to me are wrong, but it works
Any suggestions for the parameters to use?
Or this has already been tested.
today I try the other scripts,
Thanks for every suggestion.

I'm using it on a Ryzen 1600X. It runs alright, I'm getting close to 50 FPS in EasyRPG, but the disk and network I/O speed is pretty slow. That's probably not something that could be mitigated with a faster computer though.

for the network I recommend "ethernet.lha A2065" "AMINET" for 68k is more stable and is not subject to blocking, I have tried many times RTL8029 on different routers but it tends to crash every now and then.
I use a real partition as a disk

I don't know if this can be useful here. MickjT-MPlayer that works with dlive.py I can't find the right parameters usually work -vo sdl, maybe I should add other parameters in this case it doesn't hang and works with dlive.py
I apologize for the questions, but only in this way I learn.
Thanks.
here the test with the active log

I tried today aiostreams dlive cript on OS4 and it works just fine here. I believe that, since you do not get an SSL error, it should work on your machine as well. I guess that for some reason you can't reach the website to get the m3u8 file. The other scripts work on your os4 machine?

@white
Try use ffplay like

vPlayer = "APPDIR:mplayer"
vPlayerArgs = "-quiet -really-quiet -forceidx -framedrop -cache 8192"
sPlayer = "APPDIR:ffplay"
sPlayerArgs = "-loglevel quiet -infbuf -skip_loop_filter all -skip_frame noref"

This could be some network issue, although I can browse the web, ftp, etc. just fine. I'll test the other scripts later, and try to narrow down the problem.

Thanks for your help, the parameters are right.
but they seem to have no impact on the performance of mickjT-MPlayer or on ffplay.
MickjT-MPlayer works perfectly with youtube odyssey SMtube etc. with the parameter -vo sdl
Probably as accented by MickJT the problem could currently be fixed, but at the moment there seems to be problems with the live streaming protocol.
Personally, I'm happy with this script you created.
So thank you again for your great work.
Is it possible in the near future to have a GUI for its use?
Thanks again.

separate note:
I use winuae, so I can't say my experience for a real machine.

Thank you for your fine words. For me, there is no need of a desktop GUI, but I plan to create a website that will work fine on IBrowse and AWeb, with minimum usage of Javascript, no logins, but with some capabilities like the original websites have. So, this can ba a fast and great GUI for all systems, without having to lose time to different environments. Of 'course this "GUI" will be only online, without having to install anything. Like tonvid.com used by SMTube, only that you will need only your beloved browser.

What do you think about it?

It would be a good idea, and also very useful.
Creating a website dedicated to this project of yours is probably the best choice in my humble opinion.

Some time ago I wanted to dedicate a site only to the amigaos platform.
But unfortunately I have many personal things to solve.
It would be interesting to be able to upload videos only for amigaos with acceptable compression support for today's amigaos browser standards and related "mplayer-video"
And for some time I've been looking for video compression that is compatible with winuae in this case, because I don't own a real machine.
Currently I do not know the minimum standard of resolution for a real machine for amigaOS 4.1
720p is the minimum standard with which to watch a video with a low-end machine for amigaOS 4.1?

Did I misunderstand your question?
Thanks for all your answers.

Please have a look at http://aiostreams.amiga-projects.net

Since Twitch.tv is not usable in any of our available browsers, I created the above website as a good companion for the aiostreams scripts.

It is much faster than twitch.tv, with no javascripts and tracking scripts. It doesn't support logins, and might never support.

The aim is to include in this website as many networks as possible, and remain usable on IBrowse and AWeb browsers (maybe on Voyager as well).

Have in mind that some links lead to twitch.tv website. These can be used with the aiostreams scripts, and if you configure the browser to have those scripts on left click menus, they can automatically open on your workbench.

You can track the next steps and my todo list for this page at https://github.com/walkero-gr/aiostreams/projects/2

Also, I have a workaround ready for the twitch script were some streams cannot work, which I am currently testing. A new version will be released soon. Keep an eye on this topic.
