@sTix In update2 there was a bit of SDK update just for those for want manually update some bits. I.e. no fresh SDK, just something which better than nothing. There you can find in update2 what is important enough:
1). updated SDK for DOS (as it quite massively improved) 2). updates to pthread lirbary (some critical bugs were fixed) 3). updates to newlib (with lots of fixes from Frederik)
Also some "C" tools (mostly for new DOS and to help developer stuff for, but also few others, check SDK/C). And that all. MUI and MiniGL SDK also included, but that nothing to worry about they all publicly online for those who need them.
I do not know if a new SDK is in plans. Hope so.
A publicly accessible archive with just this Update 2 "SDK" directory would be useful for now.
@samo79 The latest prefs/GUI and atiradeon.chip wasn't forgotten, they were not included for reasons (don't ask me which ones, I do not know, but point that they weren't forgotten).
The only small issue from your list is with 2 missing libs from MUI archive. If there will be a bug-fix release for update2, then they surely will be fit in (but IF there will be a bug-fix release, as I also do not know that)
Well, I guess whatever the reason was it was probably wrong.. Of course as long as that new prefs are so unstable that they cannot be included yet But having that notification in blue by default and can not be change it..
@trixie
Ok, so maybe another reason to wait a bit before reinstalling the Update 2 .. Actually i'm fighting with my miggy for other unrelated issues i've being investigated... i'm in fear my Sam440 is deciding to retire
Okay, I've done a clean install of 4.1 final, followed by updates 1 and 2. Now I've been slowly trying to add things back from my previous install.
After adding the newest ZitaFTP by Hans, I'm again getting the same problem as before my clean install. (The network dies after a minute or two of using the Odessy web browser.) If I do not run ZitaFTP at system start-up, the network seems to be fine.
I really don't think that ZitaFTP is to blame, however, since the network also fails if I use other programs (such as WET).
The network seems to be very fragile since installing update 2.
@Raziel Didn't you answer you're the first question ?:) wav.datatype Copyright by AEON.
As for second one : Ringio was removed , as it also owned by AEON now, and there were some replacement done. Not sure how good or bad is , or how good or bad it controlled. There you can install at top AEON's Ringhio as it was back in past on os4 default
..so, is Ringhio one of those instances were AEon is developing the same program, but with a different name? (Again!)
No not quite.
Originally the notification system was provided by RingHIO a seperate program that worked by patching into the application.library.
Now there is a simple notification system builting to application.library with the idea that this may be replaced by a more fully featured solution should the user want to,
Notification Server ( based on the original RingHIO) is such a solution.
Application.libraries notification *should* be displaying images, if you are still running Notification Server ( check your WBStartup) and images etc have gone try deleteing your Notification preferences files and resaveing.
WRT to the aeon wave.datatype you may need the aeon sound.datatype for that to work, I didn't check but that may have been overwritten in the update.
When you get such freezes that only occur when certain combinations of third party unrelated prgrams are running it usually sugests a memory issue or missing TAG_DONE type error.
I still have problems with this Notifications though.
1) Every time i use NOTIFY ans NOTIFYA instead of RINGHIO it doesn't seem to respect the Notification prefs setting. Is there a prefs program i haven't found yet?
2) The dark blue to light blue looks amazing, where can i change the gradient/color?
3) The command seem to have changed, my scripts don't work as expected
edit:
- It seems as if "NOLOG" was dropped? - "PERCENTAGE" was dropped too? - It doesn't respect the font/fontsize - It doesn't respect the placement - It doesn't repect the
...
Thank you for the sound.datatype hints, that did it
