That all will be available pretty soon in the hotfix update (i didn't know the exact date, but I assume few days or a week maximum). The hotfix will also contain some more fixes (not in the kernel area) in newlib, dox, text clip handling, etc,
Just updated on top of my existing OS4.1FE Update1 installation. Followed the instructions and all went fine. After the first reboot...the Clock was having an issue. Run the A-EON updater utility..and there were 3 components that could be updated. One of them was the clock.
Updated all components, rebooted..and all seems working now.
A big thanks to all involved!
same experiece here with my X1000 so far all good with Update 2 being installed directly over existing my Update 1 install...of course you should back up your sys partition before installing Updte 2 eh
Thank you Hyperion for the unexpected updated! Happy new year! I installed it over 4.1 FE u1 and seems to be fine. This is on a Pegasos 2 g4 1ghz w/1gb ram Radeon 9000pro. Actually seems better/faster! mame is working fine, Run in UAE is OK, I was able to make some floppies with adfs and catweasel as well. Actually helped with internet becuase my certs were expired and ssl problems I couldnt really surf. This update cured that!
After a clean install of 4.1FE and updates 1 & 2 is it possible to install the Enhancer normally or is it not recommended at the moment? or do you have to wait for updates from amistore? Thanks
@white You can, but it will overwrite some updated system components: sound datatypes and a few tools & prefs like clock, format, time. It also will install for you some uber-slow logfile.datatype, which will then slow things down VERY MUCH when you will for example tries to watch in multiview content of .log files.
When Enhancer management will rename their versions to something which didn't match the exact names of original os4 ones and didn't include components like logfile.datatype, then there should be all fine. But for now, if you overwrite system ones by Enhancer's ones, you may have new bugs.
@sTix This time big thanks going to Costel who organize and prepare hotfix and updated the update2 archive (so new users will have no need for a hotfix, just a new version of update2).
Also to Benny who is new "management" and who is good at communication.
And of course to actual developers coding stuff: Frederik for fixing bugs in the kernel and in some components, Colin for improve/fixing dos.library and others directly and not directly involved with hotfix.
@paul
Don't you mess updater and amiupdate again? updater is aeons app, known to be buggy and lockups on running. amiupdate it's related to Hyperion. Tunenet also buggy like shit and can trash all the memory in all the ways. If you still mean issues with AmiUpdate (not Updater), then you better download hotfix as .lha from the site and install it by hands.
No. Updater from aeon is what I'm having trouble with. Only reason I post it in this thread too is because it was working again after Khayoz's suggestion to enable Effects in GUI prefs.
Now after installing the hotfix it's not working again.
BTW, I did do it manually by getting the hotfix from Hyperion's download page. I didn't even think to use Amiupdate for it, after I saw on Facebook the notice from Hyperion that the hotfix was available.

Yeah, Updater is buggy. Just bug hides for some and unhides from others in different conditions. But when it lockup, it always points out on that listviewer or how it called class from Aeon, so all in their hands now to fix. Because as it now, it just for real can't be used.
Always. It has a lot of bug fixes and feature updates under the hood and MUI is actively developed, and being tested/used by hundreds of users of Hollywood f.e., let alone the many MUI apps on AmigaOS/MorphOS
