Multiview in July update ?
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

Hi all,

I've been reading Python docs lately and noticed a grimReaper in Multiview.
Open any python.html and iconify it; then go back to reading?
Is it just me or is it Multiview ?
T/F ?

Multiview and any files it uses where not updated except dos.library and that would show problems everywhere. Multiview should be exactly the same as your final install.

It could be the html datattype, have you installed and configured it properly?

Have you tried the simple html demo program to see if that failes too?

Try reading the docs with IB or Aweb.

? I never noticed a problem before ?

I'll take a look if SimpleHTML works OK.

AWeb 3.5.9 is cool...

@benny downloaded them: http://docs.python.org/

I'm also guessing you never tried looking at those documents before either

Check the html files, you'll probably find they're full of js & css that simplehtml can't handle.

No problem here, but don't have the html datatype installed. It show up in multiview as ascii text.

You sure like make criticisms don't you! Most docs I used MV were never html,
so MV always worked fine. So, I tried MV with Python 2.5 Docs and find MV craps
out! Right, my fault, I wasn't suppose to do this.
It appears the html.datatype is crap. It's 68K and 7 years old. Hey,
how about writing a new native one?

Sebatian Bauer's 'SimpleHTML' works perfect on both SimpleMail and these Python
files.

Maybe it is good idea to post the crashlog?

There is a newer native one on OS4Depot.

Hi @Chris
I deleted the HTML.datatypes and went with Sebastian Bauer's
SimpleHTML.datatype and got the same GR in AsyncLayout. Would you have
any idea why 'iconify' may cause this :

Most likely a bug in simplehtml.datatype. Send a crash log to the author and maybe he will be able to fix it. After all he can't fix bugs he doesn't know about...

Why do you insist on using this datatype anyway? Considering how minimal the HTML support in it is.

You can change the default tool for html files (I have it set to AWeb here). Just open icon information, change default tool and then "Save As default html".

No, it's ELF for OS4. It's the same author of SimpleMail...
It's an 2005 OS4 version, but the kernel took a changed a lot since, I recon.

I'll drop a Email.

I'm a SimpleMail freak, do you mind.
