I would like to use an external usb floppy drive to read and write back adf image to real amiga floppy. Is it possible to use external usb floppy drive or do I need some special mount list or something else in order to use it?
Thanks for all the info you can give me :)

As far as i know you need a special disk drive designed just for this purpose

AFAIR the only way is to use a Catweazel MK4 in one of your pci slot

Its more controller problem, then disk drive problem, it can maybe do with a small micro controller, small custom pcb board, arduino.

The catweasel cards are supposed to let you access Amiga
classic floppies read/write. But you need a slot, etc.

Another option - external and USB based, but not
transparent - would be to use the KyroFlux interface and
a USB floppy drive.

https://www.kryoflux.com/

I can't say I have used either, but the KyroFlux is
supposed to deal better with old source media, etc.

Please let us know how things work out.

Good luck,

PJS

Catweasel works great in my X1000! Reads and writes to all my Amiga floppies & even has support for copy-protected disks!

Wow a lot has happened to it, I have not followed the development that closely, I happy to see some continue the work.

There are newer versions(2014) of the Catweasel devices/prefs on the
Amiga OS4.1FE ISO (Extra Installer), than those on Ian's webpage(2012).

Indeed but Ian's webpage is a great resource for all current and new Catweasel users with OS4.x
