I was wondering, how many people that own an (m)A1, would you also buy the Samm440, or get one and sell on your (micro)AmigaOne?
Me personally, having never had trouble with mine, would want a Sam440 as well (prefer the higher powered Moana, though).
I couldn't part with my A1 as it's faster and will never be available again. (Nothing like knowing Altivec is in there.)
That FPGA is irrisistable, wish it was in the Moana too.
I would probably would give it up if the PA-SEMI 64 bit ACK MB came out, though.
Support Amiga Fantasy cases!!! How to program: 1. Start with lots and lots of 0's. 10. Add 1's, liberally. "Details for OS 5 will be made public in the fourth quarter of 2007, ..." - Bill McEwen Whoah!!! He spoke, a bit late.

The Moana project was actually revealed in the court documents. It's not a new computer, its a port of OS4 to PPC Mac.
We dont know if the Sam will be slower than the A1 yet. The A1's northbridge performance is terrible. My own wild guess is that they will feel very similar for most things except Altivec. I mean, we know the Sam has no L2 cache and that it's memory speed is almost double the A1's, but we really have to wait for real benchmarks before stating for sure that anything is faster than the other!
I've got an A1XE G3, but I'm getting a Sam if they make it to the market. The thought of fully working USB and built in SATA appeals to me. My PCI slots are filled with an ATA and a SATA card for my devices, and a sound card to get around the lack of onboard sound. (I have one of the A1's with the AC97 chip removed). The Sam will provide the functionality I need while giving me a free PCI slot for possibly a tv tuner card, or a Catweasle!

Minimac specifically.
I'll refrain from throwing out the project name for a higher end SAM, else AI start dragging more project names into the legal proceedings for no sane reason.
Your XE? You'll give it to me since I doubt the Sam440 will be more powerfull than a G4, but who knows.
Well, I've only got an XE with a G3, so I'd probably get one. I'd sell the A1 if I had to. but of course, this is rather moot, as we need to get OS4 on the Sam first!
Well my XE has been a good development mashine even with its hw faults, but I whould like to upgrade it to a bigger mashine... and if I chould get hold of one of Adams 1.8GHz mashines that chould be great.
But I'm also looking for a small Amiga computer for when I travels and there whould the SAM440 be good.
If Adam was to release a addon for my A1200 I might be tempted enough :)
But for now I'm waiting for new hw and as long as my XE runs I'm in no hurry
I keep my beloved XE as backup computer, if I?m going to buy sam440 or not depends on 3d / video benchmarks and reports coming from others how do buy it, and my economy at time when its ready whit AmigaOS4, I think ACube-Systems are going do well as hardware manufacture.

I certainly intend to get a Sam440.... I still suspect the A1 hardware of causing lock-ups in the interrupt handling for TV card drivers, but I won't know for sure until I get my grubby mitts on another OS4 capable machine, i.e. OS 4 for my 4000 (and the appropriate upgrade to my Prometheus), or probably the SAM.
'course I'll never get anything done unless an up-tp-date SDK comes out....
