You need a cable that can handle being bent a bit several times .

The Yeston card is great, runs fairly cool, quiet too and comes with both a full height and low profile brackets.

That Amazon listing seems quite pricey though, I've purchased my 4GB variant on ebay for 115 Euro some weeks ago from this seller.

Prices seem to have risen but you can still find them there for about 130 Euro, make sure you don't accidentally get a 2GB variant as they tend to be only 5 bucks cheaper than the 4GB ones.

Yes hardware video decoding work with this card on the Sam460ex/cr machines.
There is no external power connector. The card is fully powered by the pcie slot.

I got my pair at US$112.00 each last year .

Nobody has succeeded with the Sam440ep-flex and a Radeon SI or Radeon Rx card thus far .

RX-580 is working on my A1222 and X5000. But it doesn't have working Warp3D Nova and UVD playback support yet.
2D working is fine..

If he is trying it with a Sam440ep-Flex then best to start with a graphics card know to work with a Sm460ex/cr.

Anyways, the cost will be limited to a PCIe x1 -> PCIe x16 adapter.

I own two PCI->PCIe x1 adapters and a RX560 already.

Maybe the key is the power inserter. From what i've seen so far in that other thread, everyone used a PCI->PCIe x16 adapter. But that solution might not deliver enough power for a RadeonRX card.

Maybe sam460cr still can be fit there somehow?

I read in specification that "Mini DTX, Mini ITX, Max MB size: 244 x 226mm (L x H)". So Sam460cr is 215x170, maybe will fit well still?

Well sort of. My Sam440 works with my R9 270X.

So far I've booted into workbench. Going to test if 3D works as well.
So apparently I'm the first one who got the sam440 working with a SI card.
But it doesn't work with with my RX560 yet. It seems to freeze when displaying the amigaos4.1 boot image

The RX560 has problems in my X5000 as well so I wouldn't draw any conclusions from that.

Cow3D in nova mode works with 206 fps.

Don't know if that is faster than any other 3D card in a sam440 flex.

But it works.
