SATA III Port Multiplier on X5000

I've considering testing this gadget, it's cheap and if it works allows you to add 4 SATA ports to the motherboard.

It has power connector, but strangely enough also a usb dc 5v connector, now i wonder, does it have to attached for those 5v I think the sata power connector does supply 5v?

the name is ADP6ST0-J06 and costs ~32.00£
search for SATA iii port multiplier

if anyone have tried it and it didn't work, let me know (even if you used it on a PC...)

It won't work on an X5000 or an A1222. It has to be supported by the driver and there is no support for it yet.
