Wayfarer webkit port now open source

The developer of Wayfarer for MorphOS has made his patches for WebKit available open source under BSD license here https://github.com/jacadcaps/webkitty

That's awesome news. It would be interesting to see if this is possible to cross compiled for AmigaOS 4. If this works, we can build, I guess, a browser around it or merge it with Odyssey.

Does anyone already work on that? Anyone tried to compile it?

If it only webkit based part, without morphos's based code for GUI, then it can be a bit of help, but :

our GCC has bugs that need to be fixed before modern WebKit will works., no one fixed them. For example, a one reported a year ago (strange that you forgot about, I remember you were involved in a discussion about it as well):

And also ince you will hit with any issue in the kernel of os4, or with os4 itself: bad luck, you know how things with os4 when it comes to fixing something _right now and release_.

No one in sane mind will step in that mess IMHO :) On Morphos it is possible because people who wrote browsers are also involved in the writing morphos itself. With OS4 you know what we have now.

As the resident expert and because the information is spread across different threads and different forums, would it be possible for you to enumerate here all the known issues with GCC and/or OS4 you've encountered that might block porting efforts please?
