Was anybody lucky enough to run the original Heretic2 on X5000? All I can do is to run the game, have the first video, then go to the menu, there can play with all the settings, set software mode, but once I start the actual game, watch the second video, I just crashes in powerpc.library (but i use the latest rewarp).

So when you start the game for fresh, it will always be hard crash. Try to load the save game, then a GR screen will also appear, but with an active option Ignore errors that will allow the game.

There some take about not wanting to update it, because they had butchered the code to make work on the old Amiga's, and it hard to put the code back or something.

Anyway, its nice game, it shames it’s not working well.

There is level with lots of fog that was almost unplayable on AmigaONE-XE on the old Warp3D/MiniGL, because fog was not wherry transparent.

Only Mattew know when :) I only help Hans to find out more bugs and he fixed them, so the initial version will be pretty well tested. But when it will be released it all up to Mat.

I would pay for a working AOS 4x port. Even if I have to pay the people porting as well as buying the data files etc from GOG or similar.

The Hyperion port works on AOS4.1FE with Nova Bridge.
It still appears to be available on their website.

Cheers

Cool!

However, I can buy Freespace, Shogo and Gorky 17 from their website.... (Freespace - The Great War - Purchased and working, Gorky 17 - Purchased and working)... There is no listing of Heretic II in a way to buy it though. :(

EDIT: I used to play this title with my A1200 with PPC 603e@200Mhz and Voodoo 3 3000. When I got rid of my A1200T (BIG MISSTAKE BTW), I never sent any software with it. I might still have this game somewhere boxed because I bought it back in those days. For example... I did dig up my original MakeCD boxed version not that long ago.

That said, it would be nice to be able to buy this title as a downloadable product just like Freespace, Shogo and Gorky 17.
