Yes, the daily builds are broken. I downloaded one over the weekend and saw the messed up binaries with "|" symbols in their names.

@stonecracker
Yes, it's great to have progress, although I haven't had a chance to try out the C++11 threading yet.

It would be great to finally have a working GDB which, IIRC, has remote debugging functionality. I've been putting up with having to rely on dprintf() statements for too long...

We do have a native debugger called db101, although I'm not sure how good it is (a local debugger isn't much use when you're debugging graphics drivers).

Thank you for the confirmation

db101 is a neat little graphical debugger and is still developed.

I only used it for crashes that were actually memory overruns and with such stuff the debugger is useless, as is any other, like gdb, because both are pointing to random adresses in memory.

But people with the knowledge will probably love it, it's pretty easy to use too, even for a noob like me

Just to update my remark of the non working package.

the -690 release is fine. (-682 is still broken)
I have switched to gcc8.1 for now and will test thoroughly and report bugs/problems. For now all my ports build without errors.

Thank you for the hint

@MickJT

Thank you for the pointers on installing gcc8.1.0, it's working great now.

@adtools-devs

Awesome work, thank you

Regarding the "-athread=" switch.

It is recommended to use -athread=native?
Why?

What is the difference between the three options (native, single, pthread)?
Speed, compatibility?

Thank you

At least I could not get pthread to work, and I have forgotten to ask Sebastian about it. Native should avoid pthread dependency.

Single is for single-threaded applications. I would expect that mutex/thread stuff refuses to compile with it.

At AmiWest 2019 (can't believe it's my 3rd!!! time here now, 1st time I was editing my Cross-Compiling OS4 tomes), have heard-tell that there may be something broken with these instructions.

Can anyone inform me of any breakage? I'll see if I can make updates/corrections and update my original post if needed.
