Hi,

Been following the thread for a bit, thought I should add my usual advice in this situation.

Clean the A1200 CPU slot connector and the accelerator card connector using contact cleaner, then when it is dry, try it all again. I had to do this every 6 months on one of my Amigas.

Oh also check the Kickstart ROMS are firmly in their sockets.

Good luck,

Ian

I've got it.
The accelerator port is playing up, I had exactly same symptoms with my Blizzard and A1200 but forgot when reading this thread before.

It might be an idea to open her up and see if there is anything shorting the machine out upon an accelerator being fitted.

Rude!

Yes, I would recommend isopropyl alchohol for edge connectors.

Be sure not to use this for rubber/rubber like parts as the double bond in isopropyl will denature the rubber. I include conductive contact rubberised keyboard matrices in this warning. For this you need to use methanol which only has single bonds.

Wow! This way beyond my expectation's.

29 replys in such a short amount of time. This shows that the Amiga isen't even near death. Thank's for all help!
I'm recommending this site to all of my Amiga friends.

Today I own the following Amiga models:

Amiga 500 * 4
Amiga 600HD
Amiga 3000D
Amiga 4000D
Amiga 1200
Amiga 1200T (Infinitiv)

This is my own little treasure of a computer like no other.

Thank's again!
