Who actualy owns this great old program now?

I did a little googling and found that Digital Creations merged into Play Inc. together with another company.

But I chould not find anything about Play Inc.

It whould have been great if the owners sold or donated the source to the users.

Is there anyone who can fill in the blanks? :)

Hi @rwo

Who actualy owns this great old program now?

I have a couple copies. I think the manual is the thing.
There are two versions on the disks -- AGA and EGA.

Uhm, i may be wrong, but i think what rwo trying to ask was
"Who owns the RIGHTS of the program".

Brilliance was/is one of the best drawing proggys i've ever used, so it would be SOOOOO COOOOOOL to see it resurface to OS4.0

One of the best pixel level editors ever. Back in the day (mid
1990's) I actually used Brilliance to do real work/make a
little money editing some bit mapped drawings for a guy
doing some kind of CD-ROM training for aviation mechanics
working on commercial airliners. It was real tedious work,
but Brilliance was perfect for the job.

an easier and imo better sollution would be to approach cloanto and offer to port ppaint to os4 for them, as ppaint supports gfxcards and cloanto is still around, and stated in the past that they wanted ppaint ported to os4. i'd like to have both ported but if i had to chose, i'd chose ppaint.

i think they offered the sources to ainc, but we all know that is a dead end.

It seems that Play Inc. went under as well. The only possibility is that some employee "accidentally" got a copy of the sources... :/

Well, you never know where you'll find useful info :

http://atomicinternet.homeip.net/xtra/snappy/

(take a look at the bottom of the page)

http://www.ann.lu/comments2.cgi?view= ... &category=forum&start=1&5

In that last link there's an address that seems a good starting point:

Karl Soule'
GlobalStreams, Inc
KSoule@globalstreams.com

or you could try in their webpage, http://www.globalstreams.com/

Hope it helps.

Saluditos,

Ferr?n.

So how does it go chasing an answer? - Don't let this brilliant program slip away.....it could be really great to get the source code for it.

Of Prism, DigiPaint, Brilliance, and DPaintIV, I always defaulted
to DPaint! I hope that one is on the list!

Firstly, sorry to bring up an old thread.
Did anyone find out more info about who owns Brilliance.

If not I'll carry on the journey as I'm an active user of this and other art programs on Amiga :)
