Has anyone of you who get freezes with INTERRUPT set to ON, tried to set Compositing effects in GUI/Effects to "Optimize for: Video Memory" instead of "Performance"?
Worth a try, right now the freezes are gone for me (albeit i haven't set it for a long time, still testing)
Hi, I have on my SAM460ex and a radeonHD (r7-250) a WB feeeze on startup. If I set (THX Spectre660) INTERRUPT=Yes and composition=OFF it loads WB ok and system runs ok.
I had set to Video Memory already but freezes where there. Also tried different setting in Power.prefs with no luck. These freezes also popsup with RadeonHD v5.

Oh, too bad...i'm still on the that setting and so far no freezes...
I was wondering if it could be a heat problem, but i cannot measure it and don't know if temperature would go up by default using interrupts, so just another theory...
RX560 based cards are the ones that have been tested the most (and working). Using one myself in the X1000, if you want to go he save route, get one of those.
There were quite a lot reports of non-working RX580 based cards and iirc i read once that someone got a RX590 to run, but they would probably be overkill anyway (in both price and power drain)
If you found a working rx590 that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, give me a nudge
My card is a GPVH080 AMD Radeon RX560 (4 GB GDDR5)
But I would NOT recommend this model as it seems to be a low-end one where they cut costs with the fan controller (it has none). The fan runs full speed all the time and the heat sink is also ... meh
I ripped off both and installed a bigger one with a fan now controlled by a manual controller...MUCH better for my ears (But it's nearly impossible to get a spare and matching heatsink nowadays, unfortunately Arctic dropped out of the gpu market, those were awesome heatsink/fan combos)
I guess you can safely say that any RX560 based card is going to be fine
Will have to take another look at that. It’ll be RX550 vs RX590. IIRC most things weren’t better on 590, I think optimisation and cpu grunt rather than GPU power is the OS4 bottleneck
Indeed. I tried getting a timedemo on your latest OpenJK/JA games but was not successful. Any hints?
Not sure if it Jedi have timedemo command, i do check fps in the gameplay itself only in it. Usually just test how it all on the first level doing nothing for a few seconds and take a FPS counter in right/top as result.
I just intsalled my RX560 and I got freezes after a few minutes. Now I just changed to interrupts=off. Let's see how that goes... Haven't changed anything else for now.
