The curse knows no bounds!

I was wondering when Gateway would give it up. They had their time just like Dell had their time. The day of the desktop PC is over for these companies. It just takes longer for some companies to realize that than others.

And no, I don't think the day of the desktop is over for us users. What I'm saying here is that companies can no longer grow at a high enough rate by just selling desktops to remain viable. There just isn't the demand there used to be and that demand will likely never return.

One does have to wonder what will happen with the infamous Amiga patent portfolio. It must be getting seriously on in age. I believe USA patents have a 20 year lifespan (didn't check, so I'm lazy) so that will be the end of that soon enough.
