Did you create a bootable dvd? Can you restart your miggy with that dvd or is it just a backup from which you can copy the stuff back while in a running system?
I'm asking because i tried to burn an updated bootdisk (latest gfx drivers, RX, and other stuff, but it seems i keep forgetting stuff and it always locks me out when WB/install menu should come up)
In my case, I am using CD-R discs, but yes bootable.
Bootable AmigaOS4 and U-Boot
Both Restart AmigaOS and Restart Computer work ok.
I can boot/restart from this CD and it acts like a "live CD", however, it is much slower than booting directly from my hard drive. I've got quite a few assigns in my user-startup to stuff on my "work" partition and about twenty programs in my AmiDock, it takes a few minutes for all that stuff to populate on the screen.
I goofed up one thing. In my user-startup file there was an assign to a drawer on my AmigaOS4 partition. I have since changed this to SYS: so it will search the SYS: partition (CD when booting off CD) instead of searching the hard drive. Minor change. I also made sure that entries in my AmiDock referenced SYS: instead of AmigaOS4: where appropriate.
I have everything from my SYS: partition on this backup CD (except for AMIStore downloads directory).
In my case, I don't need to backup the advanced radeon drivers because my system is an ancient MicroA1.
Hope this helps.
