You can always use Browservice to visit the sites that dont work (or work partial) on our os4 browser. Browservice is opensource and can be run on a Pi.

I made a video a while ago X5000 Browservice

Browservice is easy to setup! More info Here!

True. But I have yet to find a webpage which works on Timberwolf and not on OWB. I have found a lot that don't work on Timberwolf but work on OWB. Even after spoofing.

some pages give me this error:

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.nu.nl.

Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s).

(Error code: ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap)

So the SSL algorithms in timberwolf are incomplete or too old.

For example youtube keeps redirecting me to the desktop site. This site doesn't load.
You can spoof Timberwolf to identify as an Ipad6.1 or any other browser if you like (just like OWB) with the following steps:
1. Browse to about:config -> You'll get a warning. Simply click the button that you'll promise to be careful
2. On the config listing press RMB and choose new->string
3. Enter preference name: general.useragent.override
4. Enter string value: Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; U; CPU OS 6_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/536.26 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0 Mobile/10B141 Safari/8536.25
5. The new preference takes effect immediatly.

If you go to youtube than you'll notice that you are now redirected to m.youtube. So the preference works.
Page still doesn't load unlike on OWB.
If you search for a youtube movie on google and click on it, the youtube player loads but that's it. No playback. The error console reveals that the player javascript wants to access a function called "a.timeRemaining()". But the Timberwolf javascript interpreter says that this is not a function. So the Timberwolf javascript interpreter is probably to old.

I quit using Timberwolf after it decided that amigaworld.net was an untrusted website. Never could figure out how to fix that. So I tried a new install. First launch croaked at about 33% (as expected).

Second launch succeeded in loading Timberwolf.

When I tried to go to amigaworld.net I get the following message ...

--------------------------------------------------------

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Timberwolf to connect
securely to amigaworld.net, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to
this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is
trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

Technical Details

I Understand the Risks

----------------------------------------------------------

I am not surprised. This is the same message I got last time I used Timberwolf a few months ago.

I have other web browsers that I can use on my OS4 system,
like AWeb, IBrowse, NetSurf and Odyssey.

Update...

Ok, I finally convinced Timberwolf to accept amigaworld.net and forum.amiga.org as trustworthy websites. Both of these look fine. I have not tried posting from Timberwolf.

Anyways ... glad to see that Timberwolf is back to life.

Timberwolf uses a vast amount of memory on my MicroA1 system, so I will still rely on my other web browsers for casual browsing.

I wanted to try TimberWolf with the 4.1FE Using "Browservice" It works "well" for navigation.
I also tried YouTube and it works to start could be fine.

I wanted to ask if there is something more efficient similar to Browservice ??

The test was carried out on the same PC without using another dedicated PC.

I will need advice on who is proficient in this type of program and if there is something more efficient.

Even more complex.

(linux on dedicated machine or windows through "powershell")

I'd like to see if there is any kind of conversion that can be done on the fly maybe like "AmiTube" does (I hope the question is right)

Thank you.

@VooDoo,
Hi
I am using "browservice" to render the pages correctly.
browsing is fast in the sites I would say "good"
it probably lacks some kind of support as always in emulation due to the graphics card.

here the program:
https://github.com/ttalvitie/browservice

i have no idea how to do it on real hardware
but in theory you just need to have "browservice" on a local machine with windows or linux and it should work fine for you with an X5000.

what I was looking for was graphics plugin support or ffmpeg to do the conversion on the fly.

I guess it can be done by good developers

An "xpi" extension for TimberWolf that supports aiostreans and YT.rexx would also be interesting.

But mine are just wrong ideas maybe there are people who surely know more than me.

To note that the developer talks about powerppc and 68k in the readme of him but has never had any feedback and reports to be able to improve it further from this side.

The client support has been tested using the procedure documented in the test directory. It would be interesting to hear about your experiences on different platforms. Browservice is expected to work on Internet Explorer or Firefox on old m68k and PowerPC Macs, but due to lack of access, these have not been tested.

It is another urban legend that Timberwolf doesn't run (*) on AmigaOS 4.1FEU2. It always did - but people had notable problems to collect and merge the correct installation files for this. On my three different systems Timberwolf never had stopped working (*).

Sorry for the OT
I make a copy and paste
than what I wrote on EAB.

Maybe someone is interested in the emulation side and is much more experienced than me knows how to configure it well.

I wanted to try this:

I was trying "WebONE" works for proxy certificates etc.
But the interesting part for the emulation is this even if I don't know if it works or if it is useful:
https://github.com/atauenis/webone

""" Picture format converting is performing via convert from ImageMagick (installing automatically).
Video files can be converted on fly via ffmpeg. It's included in Win-x64.full zips, and can be installed manually on Linux/macOS.
To watch YouTube.com videos through proxy, install ffmpeg together with youtube-dl (included in Win-x64.full zips) and use included yt.bat/yt.sh script."""

I will have to do various tests but when I enable user-agents useful for the purpose in the program log ffmpeg appears trying to convert the video but I still don't understand how to do it.

Here the "readme" for the part dedicated to YouTube:

Windows batch script to use Youtube-Dl as video converter for WebOne.
System requirements:
* Server:
* MS Windows XP +
* WebOne proxy server v0.9.2 or newer
* Youtube-DL EXE (https://github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-dl/releases)
* FFmpeg EXE (https://www.ffmpeg.org/download.html#build-windows)
* Fast multicore CPU
* Fast internet and LAN connection

* Client:
* Streaming video player like Windows Media Player or VLC
* Audio and video codecs (or K-Lite Codec Pack)
* Fast LAN connection

How to use:
Step 1. Unpack yt.bat into WebOne folder.
Step 2. Copy ffmpeg.exe into WebOne folder.
Step 3. Copy youtube-dl.exe into WebOne folder.
Step 4. Add to [Converters] section of webone.conf this line:
yt.bat "% SRCURL%"
Step 5. Add to webone.conf this edit set:
[Edit: ^ (http: // www \. | Http: //) youtube.com/watch]
AddConvert = yt.bat
AddResponseHeader = Content-Type: video / MP2T
Step 6. Open any player on client PC and open url
[ Show youtube player ] * via proxy
or
http: // proxyhost: port /! convert /? url = URL_LIKE_ABOVE & util = yt.bat * direct
The requested video should begin playing in the player.

In full Win32 / 64 builds of WebOne, steps 1-4 are already complete. Step 5 is
present in webone.conf, but by default is commented (disabled).

Configuring:
- To change path to youtube-dl.exe and / or ffmpeg.exe edit yt.bat and
add "cd disk: \ path \ to \ binaries" line on top or edit paths directly
- To change output codecs, resolution or other parameters of video
stream edit "-vcodec mpeg2video -acodec mp3 -f mpegts" line in yt.bat.

List of available codecs and formats can be get through running ffmpeg.exe
on proxy machine with "-codecs" and "-formats" arguments.

Note: the example edit set in Step 5 of the manual is for WebOne 0.10.1+.
For WebOne 0.9.2 / 0.9.3 use this old-style webone.conf rule:
[FixableURL: ^ (http: // www \. | Http: //) youtube.com/watch]
Redirect = http: //% Proxy% /! Convert /? Url =% Url% & util = yt.bat & type = video / MP2T

If anyone can be of help
Sorry I'm always looking for help

From this I took inspiration to create a sort of server to try to use FFmpeg to convert streaming videos on the fly.

So I researched a bit but it's not my field but I like reading and experimenting.

The direct question is this:

It is possible to create a server for example using XAMPP in this case using Windows later I can also do it on a dedicated machine with linux once you understand how it works.

And via FFmpeg do real-time YouTube video conversions on the fly through Odyssey a bit like "AmiTube" does.

In practice, the server makes me the video conversions and through winuae + odyssey the videos should be fluid because processed through "ffmpeg" with a dedicated server, that's the idea.

here a video on YouTube to make you understand what I mean:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgWVm_j3llo

In practice I do not need a step by step explanation but only to understand if it is possible to do it and what documentation I should look for because I can not find anything and possibly which programs to use apache php ffmpeg etc.

Thank you.

I do a little update
I found a way to watch videos in real time
the conversion happens on the fly but currently only with readers (all)
Emotion-- FFplay-- MickJT-Player--

in practice ffmpeg converting them can be seen in real time
immediately without waiting for the complete conversion.

at the moment i'm only using the proxy as soon as i have time i put on apache so there is full support for http *

this is the YT.bat I'm using:

@rem Download a YouTube video and return it as a stream of MTS with MPEG2 data.
@rem Requires youtube-dl.exe and ffmpeg.exe in same folder as the batch and WebOne.
@ youtube-dl "% 1" -o - | ffmpeg -protocol_whitelist file, http, https, tcp, tls -movflags + frag_keyframe + separate_moof + omit_tfhd_offset + empty_moov output.mp4 -y -i pipe: -vcodec libx264 -acodec mp2 -f mpegts pipe:

Later I make a video
Currently only windows edge spoffing in odyssey latest version seems to be supported

For the moment I can't show it inside Odyssey directly but it can open the videos but only using an external video player but I'm working on it but this obviously concerns "winuae"

Maybe the explanation is not very clear but it works.

Of course, there are great scripts like Yt.rexx and Aiostreams that do the same and even better.

But the purpose is to be able to do it directly with the Browser

Any help would be very interesting to me.
Thank you.

Timberwolf is currently excluded from these tests.

in summary what i would like to do is use with winuae through ffmpeg with ffplay with acceleration and nvidia GPU support at least in the browser.
Actually the ultimate goal would be this

But I still haven't figured out how to possibly enable ffplay to play eg YouTube videos through Odyssey.

ffmpeg works fine
in reality I can make him talk to Odyssey but I get an error with the internal player of Odyssey

These are my usual crazy ideas for experimenting

A simple quick explanation would be enough for me

But who to ask?

Hi guys,

I didn't think Timberwolf ever stopped working (at least from
a clean start **)... It's just that it has lost any ability to
do contemporary secure connections (https://, etc).

(**) FWIW, I did find that for TW to run somewhat reliably, you
should delete all the user "profile" stuff. So I added these
line to the start of the TW CLI startup script:

if exists CurrentUserProfile NOREQ
requestchoice "Timberworlf starting..." "Deleting old*nsession files." "Proceed"
delete CurrentUserProfile/#? all force
endif

I wonder how well TW would work if the new SSL code could be
compiled into the existing source.

Good luck,

I'm not sure what you're trying to do and what direct connection
it has to Timberworlf....

If you want to remotely view a local IP camera, if it provides
a simple connection (like in your video), you should just be
able to connect to the IP address & port # with MPLayer or
FFPlay and view away. I do with a number of cameras/apps at
home/work with my Amigas.

Of course there's the complexity of getting through your router
to provide access from the WAN (aka Internet). Each router is
different and you'll need some way to find your LAN's internet
IP address. That can be challenging!

To simplify that a bit, you should look into dynamic domain name
services. http://www.ddns.net is an example.

Good luck,

PJS

OK, now you seem to be talking about viewing videos... Not
sending out videos from a camera. hmmm...

Just install/configure YT.rexx, MPlayer and FFPlay *correctly*
and then run YT.rexx (either in shell or from most any Amiga
browser) and stream the video in MPlayer or FFPlay, as needed.

I think you need to clarify your understanding of what those
programs do... YT.rexx just decodes/decyphers the YT stream
URLs and MPLayer and FFPlay just stream/play the found streams.
No "conversion" is taking place, pre se.

Playing vids on peecee??? You're on your own.

Playing videos within an Amiga browser? AFAIK, Oddity has
occasionally been able to do it, but reliably or for any length
of time? Way more overhead and trouble than playing directly
in a video player, IMHO. Get the right tool for the job! ;)

Tip: Goggles "improved" YouTube again, so I think you have to
spoof in Oddity as an iPad (IIRC) to see anything.

Good luck,

PJS

Hi,

You don't know how much I appreciate your response, Thanks a lot,

YT.rexx and Aiostreams also work perfectly to watch streams on TwitchTV etc. with winuae

So the above programs work perfectly and I really wouldn't need anything else.
Indeed I always thank the authors for these programs.

I discovered this program and I was trying with Odyssey to make it work in real time:

WebOne (LINUX or WINDOWS)
https://github.com/atauenis/webone

it only supports proxy but I can adapt it on the fly with XAAMP to have http * support to work better with it.

Clearly my idea is dedicated to "winuae" and therefore I understand that there is obviously no interest in this in the forum and I understand it indeed I apologize if I insist sometimes

I managed to get the Youtube streaming stream in real time (while ffmpeg for windows) processes it all Emotion video players - FFPlay - MickJT-MPlayer - of amigaos 4.1 are able to play the video without problems and without problems of DRM

actually the hard part for me is getting it to work directly in Odyssey (Timberwolf cannot support this process).

I have tried very rudimentary with Odyssey directly within its Browser but I sometimes get a crash of "newlib" or Odyssey's response with this the Odyssey Internal Player has crashed.

Basically WebOne is written in "C" and obviously is not meant to be used with the Broser Odyssey, I imagine that someone experienced in this "Amiga" side would be able to easily modify it to use it with Odyssey as well.

Thanks again for your answer indeed any further advice would be very nice.

I leave here the part dedicated to WebOne for YouTube so maybe it is easier to understand what I mean, moreover the webone.conf file is easily editable and therefore once downloaded it would be enough to take a look inside to adapt it to YouTube for Odyssey.

; YouTube playback (youtube-dl & glue script)
[Edit: ^ (http: // www \. | Http: //) youtube.com/watch.*&dl]
OnHostOS = Windows
AddConvert = yt.bat
AddResponseHeader = Content-Type: video / MP2T

changing this line i get the youtube file download to start streaming and it works flawlessly.

[Edit: ^ (http: // www \. | Http: //) youtube.com/watch.*]

instead I would like to try to make it work directly in the Odyssey Browser.

[Edit: ^ (http: // www \. | Http: //) youtube.com/watch.*&dl]
OnHostOS = Linux
AddConvert = yt.sh
AddResponseHeader = Content-Type: video / MP2T

[Edit: ^ (http: // www \. | Http: //) youtube.com/watch.*&dl]
OnHostOS = macOS
AddConvert = yt.sh
AddResponseHeader = Content-Type: video / MP2T

; YouTube playback (via original ViewTube)
[Edit: ^ (http: // www \. | Http: //). *. Googlevideo.com/]
AddConvert = ffmpeg
AddConvertArg1 = -vcodec mpeg2video -acodec mp2 -f mpegts
AddResponseHeader = Content-Type: video / MP2T
; Choose right codecs which are correct for client PC and media player.

My modified YT.bat is this is working but it should probably be improved even more.

@rem Download a YouTube video and return it as a stream of MTS with MPEG2 data.
@rem Requires youtube-dl.exe and ffmpeg.exe in same folder as the batch and WebOne.
