PM email notification

I know this has come up before.

Is there a way to add an email nudge whenever a PM has been sent (optional of course)?

I know it works with the forum threads, but PMs are so easy to miss, since there is only this tiny letter icon beside the "User Menu" entry.

Thank you

Haven't found any setting for it.

Anyway, I keep asking this every time this issue comes up:

If anyone wants to make a nice GIF anim indicator in the same proportions as the current image then let me know.

You can find the current one here:

I'll second that.

I don't get many PMs so don't think to check for them every day.

When I do, it certainly isn't obvious and it can be a good few weeks before I see I have had a PM on this site.

Is there any way to tell you that there is a waiting PM without having to click on the User Menu ? Having it hidden in a menu item you tend to not even look at is not really ideal.

Your little anim GIF worked well, hopefully you will see the same for the PM I have sent to you

This is a more modern version and not as aggressive as the other one.
It also has alpha channel applied anywhere (i hope).

Maybe you want to use this one?

I can be wrong, but it does not matter what is inside that small image; it is just too small to attract attention. If you have any PMs, the only solution, in my opinion, is to have a big window in the center of the screen that says "You got a PM!" when you log in. At least, that's how PMs are often handled on other forums.

Of course, it's not a big deal, but if the image is in the upper left corner and there is no other notification, you will miss it. It just didn't get the necessary attention.
