New version of the driver in the upload queue of os4depot.net

Now with X1000 support (Thanks @Raziel for testing and pushing me to add support in the first place )

The IDT 92HD700 codec on X1000 works completely different compared to other CODECs. Most noticeable is the missing monitor hardware.
Instead there's a karaoke mode which will mix the input of the ADC to out Line output. Therefore the Monitor volume slider has been replaced with a mute checkbox. The monitor/karaoke volume is equal to the ADC volume and therefore controlled with the input volume slider.

If you want to use this driver on your X1000 than make sure that the original ahi driver (HDAUDIO) is removed and the X1000 mixer program and docky is not running/started. (Be aware that the Enhancer updater utility likes to reinstall this driver)

For installation & Usage: See User_Manual.pdf

6.11: (28 Jan 2023)
- Added autoswitch between 16bit and 24bit recording buffer
- Removed Mixer option to limit Recording resolution to 16bit.
- Added X1000 support
- Created User Manual
- Small optimizations

Is there any chance to have audio through the HDMI for X1000 and X5000, or it is not possible?

It is very hard for me when I am recording from the analog output together with the DVI to HDMI and having to boost volume for each different application.

Not sure if people will get angry at me for sharing but I do have a driver ready.

The "audio codec" in a Radeon behaves like a hdaudio codec. But it is really nothing more than a pass through device. The actual codec is inside the connected hdmi device.

Audio goes in. Audio data is being fetched by the Radeon hardware. But nothing comes out on the HDMI interface at the moment.

So this is all I can do for now.

Sounds cool !

I am not a driver's developer, so was always thinking that programming audio support in the HDMI of graphics card, will require some sort of access to the graphic's card API or something, that bull ?

The audio hardware is simply a different PCIe endpoint on the same card. So the graphics driver is only indirectly involved with the audio input part. But the HDMI output part is fully handled by the graphics driver.
I was told that AMD confirmed the issue. The solution is not easy. And that is an understatement. But I am not in the loop. So I have no idea if and when the issue is solved.

To add to what geennaam said:

AMD never did get HDMI out working with the original AMDGPU framebuffer code. The working HDMI code is part of their new display module, which is a monster. This means we'd have to port and use their newer code. We only have one developer working on the driver and most of the graphics system (i.e., me). So, I can't even say when work would start on making it happen.

Can you tell us waht are the adds or improvements for X1000 vs the original driver?

I'm using NemoSound to control HD audio sound on my X1000.

That was my question as well.
I don't own a X1000, so I can't tell you.

I'm using NemoSound to control HD audio sound on my X1000.

That would be one of the improvements...no third-party program needed to init inputs/outputs, works right out of the box.

e.g. if you plug in your smartphone running a radio station or youtube video through Mic in or Line in, you'll get instant music playback once WB has loaded the HDAudio driver.

That is not the case with the original driver as far as i can tell.
They don't work together very well, so i can't cross-check, but iirc i had to init the inputs with NemoSound first to make the playback getting chained through.

I've been using your driver on the X1000 for some time now. This driver makes sound right after power on, when the official driver doesn't give any sound aftet power on. I'll have to reboot (cold/warm) to get any sound. But negative side is that boot process is hanging quite frequently now. Usually it hangs while AmiDock is loading its icons when idle.task crashes.

Do you maybe still have the old mixer (from hdaudio) in your Dock?

AHI is very limited when it comes to generic hardware control. It expects that everything is controlled from within an application. Therefore, mixer programs will access the hardware directly.

So make sure that you check the following:
1) remove both sys:devs/AHI/Hdaudio.audio and sys:devs/audiomodes/HDAUDIO

2) Make sure that you select and save a valid audio mode for all 5 units in sys:prefs/ahi or sys:prefs/Sound (Audiomodes for my driver start with 47)

3) Remove anything related to the Nemo driver from your dock, startup-sequence, user-startup and wbstartup. I don't own an X1000 but I think Nemo sound, Mixer and a docky.
Only run the provided HDmixer and Hdmixer.docky

Hope this helps.

Looks like all of his software, for example nvme.device as well, was removed from OS4depot, the only exception I found is ahidrv-filesave

Aren't the HDAudio drivers also available in the Enahncer Software 2.2 package ?

The Enhancer hdaudio driver can only handle the X1000 onboard hdaudio solution.

I had my reasons to get my drivers removed from os4depot. I am looking at a different way to distribute them. But I am not in a hurry.

Yes, I thought the one on Enhancer was for X1000. Let's face it, if that wasn't the case then there never would have been a reason to have yours

Well, whatever your reasons, I hope you're able to bring it back some day soon. I will keep the Audigy FX since it wasn't much money but in the meantime after speaking to Amigakit today I ordered a CMI8738 based card off Amazon.
