Even if using the kernel FPU emulator does work on the A1222 you should still build a special A1222 version with CFLAGS+=-msoft-float, if GCC creates the FPU emulation code it should be much faster than using the kernel FPU emulator.

You should have SDL2Prefs tool, maybe look in SYS:Prefs.
Such program is on sdl2 archive.
