I am always wondering about the avatars in the forums, what they mean and why peoples have chosen them.
My avatar is jpg of my coin bank from a restaurant chain here in Michigan; it says "Big Boy" on his shirt. The original franchise was titled - Elias Brother's Big Boy Restaurants. I don't if that's true today. I'll have lookup the Michigan business records!.
The checkered red & white pants were always in the original logo that goes back to the 1950's! As you know r&w checkered table cloths are an old classic Italian restaurant trademark!
Anyway, I like their burgers and sandwiches. Yes, I'm plugging a commercial!
Mine is me standing by my 1950 Studebaker Land Cruiser. I hope to restore to original condition. Studebaker is an orphaned car brand, just like the Amiga is an orphaned computer.
The last few years, Studebaker's have been a lot more fun as a hobby. That hobby doesn't have all the evil trolls that take so much of the fun out of being involved with an orphaned computer platform.

Mine should be recognisable by most - it's the work of Eric Schwartz.
The reason why I picked this piece specifically is purely because it's all I could find that fit nicely into an avatar size! The original is here: http://rigby-jones.net/es/art/art/TabSnow.jpg
I must have shrunk it down a little - it's been so long I can't really remember!
Our pet, and my avatar, is an English Mastiff; a noble dog who isn't easily flustered. His name is Cholmondeley, pronounced Chumley, and he is lovely.

Aw, well... thats how they pronounce it Up Narth, in Cheshire Different spelling, No 'R' in the word...
He was named after The Cholmondeley Arms, our local pub, in Frodsham.
With 10 cask ales, my fav is the Bhurtpore Inn, in Aston, however... that sounded odd...
"Here Bhurtpore! Here!"
