New x5000 - errors with elf library
Just popping in
Just popping in

See User information
Hello,
I just got a new x5000/40 last week and have been going through some teething troubles that I'm hoping someone can help with.

If I attempt to use Utilities/Installation Utility, I get the following errors as pop ups:
ELF Library - Failed to find canonical name for libz.so.1
ELF Library - Required Object is missing
ELF Library - Failed to load shared object libpython25.so
ELF Library - Required Object is missing

Does anyone have any idea what this is and how to fix it? Works fine on my x1000.

Thanks
Dave

@davec555

I guess the installer utility uses sobjs: to grab the needed shared objects.

So, first take a look at sys:sobjs/ and find
libz.so.1
libpython25.so

If they are missing copy them from your os install cd and try again

If they are there, take a look at the directory where the installation utility resides and see if there is also a sobhs dir.
If yes, rename that sobjs dir and try again

See this post from tonyw and recreate his script to probably fix it.

Thankyou everyone. That did it. Links were broken and script works great.
